I've been carrying the Nitecore Tiki everyday for the past two years and it lives in my jean's watch pocket and has gone through the wash and dry cycle, twice...lol and is still shinning bright. Got my daughter the olight she loves it keeps it on her car keys and she will put it on charge when she drives if she needs to as it will fully charge when she gets where she's going even on short trips

I’ve ended up sticking with Olight and am happy. I use the i3t and i5t too. I like the replaceable batteries and how on low mode they last 16-22 hours. One lasting me an hour then having to charge it only works in absolute ideal scenarios.. remember that.

I couldn't decide between TIP SE and Tini 2, bought the TINI 2 for myself and the TIP SE as a gift. Even though the size and screen on the TINI are great i am tempted to keep the TIP for the hands off turbo mode and higher brightness. I would have been happy with either but having both in my hand what i really want is a TINI with TIP brightness and hands off turbo.

Great review. I was originally looking at the Olight i1R2 EOS as an EDC But, where I live the price difference between an Olight i1R2 EOS and TIP SE isn't that much (16% price difference). So I purchased the TIP SE and all I can say is that it does a great job as my EDC. I don't carry lights and tools on my car keys for a reason, too many folks wear their ignition starters out with heavy and overloaded key chains. So mine goes into my EDC fanny pack and it works for me. I've noticed that there are many people that expect key chain lights to fill every role for every lighting need and that's just not possible. I believe having something like a 1000 lumens flashlight as a primary for camping, around the house or for Neighborhood watches is a must for every average person. The TIP SE has filled my system as my EDC, where my Nitecore NF01 has become my light at home that gets taken with me if I have certain tasks to perform for more battery and light intensive requirements.

Yeah I think you did well grabbing the TIP SE over the Olight! It has enough battery life if you use it occasionally and an excellent high output when you need something bright! When you are ready to upgrade the Nitecore you should consider stepping up to a 21700 light! Basically they deliver higher outputs and longer runtimes compared to 18650 lights and they are just slightly larger. I'm about to do a comparison with a bunch of them, so stay tuned!

I think you should add the Wowtac W1 to your list. I had the Rovyvon, and I loved it. It died a few weeks ago and I needed a small flashlight for work. I used the W1. IPX 8. 560 lumens. 650 MaH rechargeable battery. 58 grams with the battery -feels SOLID. Great UI. Fits in my watch pocket. I wouldn't put it on my key chain. It's on the top edge of your criteria, but I trust it. And thank you. Good informative video.

The Olight I1R2 is the most convenient to carry, and I have already purchased them for my whole family. I like that when you unscrew the head for charging, it stays attached to the rest of the flashlight, so u don't risk losing bits. I usually use the lower brightness setting when walking around my house at night. I usually edc larger, more powerful "tactical" flashlights, but keep the I1R2 around just because it is so unobtrusive.

Yeah the Olight is great for the reasons you mentioned that's for sure! For most up close tasks it's more than capable and sometimes if you are lucky Olight gives them away for free during their sales! What larger light do you like to EDC?

@@UrbanSurvivor Yeah, I like olights. I have many of their products. Lately, I've been carrying a warrior mini mostly(with the glow in the dark rubber condom). I switch between different models for different tasks. M2r pro warrior is my strongest, and usually stays in the truck. My blue baton3 usually stays in my blue car.

I have the TipSE... It is fantastic... But, it comes on VERY easily when in my pocket. The only work around I've found is to leave it in demo mode which gives it a 30 second run time.

So the Rovyvon A5X that you used in this video is actually the 7075 version with the "orange peel" reflector correct? Have you compared it to any of the other Rovyvon's with the standard TIR type lens they use in all the other lights? If so, which do you prefer? And is the light still holding up good? I have the rovyvon and the Fenix, and a couple other cheap lights like a thruniite. The rovyvon is now constantly on my Keychain. It is my favorite Keychain light, although the charge port rubber piece has been pulled off by normal use. And I find that somehow the internal board will rotate slightly. When I go to charge it the micro USB isn't aligned. Not to big a deal, I just rotate it with my pinky.

Yea the RovyVon really is a great light and the lantern comes in handy quite a bit for me. Hopefully they can address the internal board rotation in a future update. I have a contact on their marketing team and will mention that to them.

I didn't know the TIP se have quite 'low' impact resistant. Do you know if any strap that can tie around my head when I clip it onto my cap. I just order it this week, worried about it falling down.

Hi! I have a doubt and need some advise. I like both Fenix and Nitecore Tini 2, don't know which is better. The Red light of Fenix is cool but i think i'll never use it. But i don't mind the Oled display too. Don't know if Nitecore lumen on turbo will be so useful in real case. I'll use it for car, for other i've Fenix PD36R. Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹

Yeah that A8X is great too. Seems like you get the most options for Side LED lighting and the body doesn't glow in the dark. TIP SE is really nice too.

I prefer the RovyVon because its a bit smaller and more convenient for keychain carry. I think the red light is more useful than the UV but neither would get much use most of the time lol. Another light I like a lot is the Astrolux K2! Its a bit cheaper than these lights and is similar in many ways to the rovyvon.

Unfortunately it is unavailable on Amazon, I had to order from there so I chose the rovyvon a5x red. Mostly I'll use is during some night walks and to complete my EDC which is small and compact but I use it everyday. Thank you again for your suggestion and keep going with the channel your videos are amazing and you have a new subscriber! :D

I would say olight has a better quality keychain light but fenix would pretty much be better on most other larger models.

I had the original Nitecore Tube which was very cheap, great on the keychain, and easy to mouth. However, the low battery time and low brightness made me reconsider it. I stumbled upon the Nitecore Tip (Cri) when it went on discount (deals / postage to my country is not as good as USA). The battery life and brightness were great, more than adequate, and colour accuracy was great for phone-photography. However, its kinda heavy and annoyingly large on a keychain. The squishy buttons are also not the best, exposed USB port is hazard, and the belt clip is an outdated concept (for 50 year olds who had phones on their belts?). I used it alot, but when needing in the dark with two hands, it is difficult to "mouth" the torch. End up making you drool all over the torch and floor. It also had electronic problems switching itself on in my pocket, burning my leg, wasting the battery, and later just refusing to turn on. Also, no warranty to honour (repair price was higher than buying new). So I've gone without a flashlight for a year, no good deals for my region, using my phones LED in a pinch. About two months ago ended up getting the Nitecore Tip-SE. Hopefully the IP54, and enhancements will prevent it from breaking like the Tip-1. Torch is brighter, beam is wider, lasts a little longer, and charges faster.... all great improvements for real-world uses. I only heard about the Tip-2 after purchase, as the magnet back looks like it could be handy for me, oh well. However, the Tip-SE still has the dumb clip design with exposed USB port. And colour accuracy is worse than Cri. I'm beginning to regret it sometimes because it still is slightly too heavy, slightly too large, for keychain and pocket... and mouthing it is unpractical (drool like a dog). So my question to you is... What would be a good upgrade from this? The Nitecore Tini 2, looks like it would be easy to "mouth", slightly better buttons, covered port, and not a burden on pockets-keychain. I don't care for the display, but it's a bonus. The 500Lm seems adequate enough for me for blinding/self-defence reasons, or to light-up a large area like a larger handheld flashlight. The Nitecore Tiki also looks good, very light and compact, and good for a tent. The Red-Blue lights might be good as a prank for normal people, but its mostly a gimmick (maybe Red Light is more useful). After seeing the Glow-in-the-Dark action, I know that's not really a feature. It dies too quickly, and its quiet stupid to worry about GitD when you have an actual low-light torch. So the standard Tiki makes more sense for having the UV-Light which is good for spotting microbes, liquid spots, and bank notes. However, all the Tiki models seem to lack the "turbo" function, not able to throw a bright to light up a large area.... or to blind someone for self-defence. I've heard Rovyvon is a higher quality brand to Nitecore. The A5 looks like the Tiki (tent lamp, UV, etc) but with a reasonable 600Lm turbo mode. The A5x is slightly larger and heavier, but apparently has more battery life, throw and brightness. I wonder if the A5 or the A5x is "mouth" friendly, and how do they feel in the pocket when attached to keys. How would they compare to the Nitecore Tip SE. And if stepping to another model like the A7x or A8x would they be larger than the Tip-SE, or "too large" to carry on keys in same pocket, or too thick to mouth comfortably? Cheers in Advance!
