There are countless gym shorts on the market for men and every short is built slightly differently which can make the buying process overwhelming.
On top of each workout short's nuances, we all have our list of personal preferences in the context of comfort, fit, and how your gym shorts will work for our individual training style.
I'm regularly rotating my workout shorts and have tried a lot of different pairs. Below are six of my current favorite men's workout shorts.

All of the workout shorts featured in this video I like to wear in different workout and training contexts.
For example, the Ten Thousand Interval Short is my most consistent go-to workout short, but for casual wear and training, I like the Kore Short and Pace Breaker Short.

I haven't tried all of the shorts you have, Jake, but my go to workout short is still the Ten Thousand Tactical. Hate them for casual wear as I run hot in them, but for anything active, they're amazing. I'm in the market for some new everyday casual shorts, so will be checking out Interval and the Rhone Mako Tech short. As always, thanksnfor the great info!

I have a pair of the BP Versatile Shorts 7". how do they fit compared to the Interval Shorts? I found the versatile shorts to be tight my legs surprisingly (I wear an XL). The rest of the Born Primitive line is true to size for me. I always wanted to try Ten Thousand but haven't yet

Interval will be a smidge bigger with their liner as it’s not as aggressive! Worth a try if you can cop them for a decent price.

Great video! I would like to get your recommendation on guys who have thick thighs and big glutes that would like some more room in the back area. I train hybrid (Deadlift, squat, bench, bodybuilding, running, CrossFit) I'm 5'6 150LB. What do you recommend? I heard Rugby Shorts are pretty spacious but I kind of want to get traditional workout shorts. I trained GymShark but they're starting to get a little tights on my legs and glutes. Thanks!

Look into BYLT Active+ - they tend to be pretty spacious. The Legends Relay is also pretty spacious!

What would you recommend for strongman training? Especially with rough implements like stones, logs, axle bars, and odd object carries? And have you tried gorucks simple shorts or challenge shorts?

I haven't tried them yet, but they're on my list of shorts to buy soon! I've had folks like the LTT from Lulu for that and others have enjoyed using the Tactical/Interval from TT. I'm low-key wondering what some of the pros wear, though, since their anatomies are wayyyyyy diff than the athletes I interact with who train strongman

Have you ever used Born Primitive’s American Defender shorts? They’re more like “trunks” but I love them for weightlifting. I actually wear them exclusively except for sprint days when I wear the Versatile shorts

For the Interval shorts, do you go with the 5 in or 7 in inseam?

I rock the 7" inseam! 5" is too short for my tastes and I like how 7" inseams fall on liners.

Jake, I love your videos brother, they are very valuable. Need your expertise. Based on this video, I’ve tried the Interval, but to me it fits a little tight on me 4:24 like Nike (much better stretch tho). I really like the fit of the Legend Luka. Can you advise which shorts I could try that are sized similar to Luka?

Hmmm - You may want to look into the Built Active+ - they're a little more spacious through the shell. The new Pace Breaker may also work well. Thank you for checking out the channel! I need to get more shorts in my rotation NGL

Ten Thousand Tactical for me. I have the Foundation, Interval and Set shorts but the Tactical are the best. The zippered pockets are also great for holding in wallet, keys and phone.

Are we talking weightlifting the sport or rec lifting? My go-to's lately have been the TT Interval and New Lulu Pace Breaker. Shirts wise, I have a limited knowledge on performance-focused shirts. I typically wear shirts of brands that my friend's own to support them. I'm sorry I'm not more help here!

The new Pace Breaker from Lulu has some good crotch room. BYLT Active Shorts also have okay crotch room - at least for my good! Thanks for checking out the video!

Eh, I find them to feel a bit cheaper than other brands. If you’re just wanting them for lifting then you’ll be fine in them but for CT/CF I don’t love em as much as others

There used to be a pacebreaker short with a more true compression fabric liner(luxstreme I think?) that was better than the new and old versions
