The technical mount aka modified mount aka side mount is one of the most dominant positions in jiu jitsu, offering a plethora of attacks like armbars, triangles, and several different strangles.
I wanted to show you some of my favorite strangle holds from that position, including the very first one that I learned when I was a white belt, back in 1997 in Brazil.

I think this may be the best explanation of feeding the gi that I have ever seen. People always say feed the gi to the hand, what is often unsaid is that the reason to feed the gi is that you have placed the hand where it needs to be. Instead of grabbing the gi and then trying to place the hand and probably ending with the wrong tension, place the hand and feed the gi with the right tension.

It is great to see all of these in one place, and going through it as a sequence -- "if you can't do A because your partner did B, then you go to this next choke". Also, I like the detail you highlight to push his head down using your tricep so that you don't fall back with him following you.

It will vary from gym to gym but in Judo is Kataha Jime, single wing choke. I call it at my gym the karate chop choke.

Solution:dont give the underhook away and don't him you lapel. Now all your smart attacks are gone 🤗

Chokes 4 and 5 don't need the underhook :)
