Я тоже подшиваю джинсы 2способом .По бокам где плотные швы ,предварительно слегка разбиваю молоточком ,ткань становится не такой плотной ..

Grest tips. Don't forget to use a larger needle too, a 16 or 18 and also use a zipper foot, it really helps as wll as using a stretch stitich on some jeans.
