Actually when messi was still young a manager for barca wanted to scout messi but the barcalona executive board was a bit hesitant because messi was very young to travel to agrentina to barcalona until he's father got mad and threatened them to messi going to real madrid

Messi left Barca without any transfer fee. I believe he went to PSG due to close friends such as Neymar, Paredes and Di Maria. Nearly all of them left before WC started and Neymar's injuries made him hospitalized more then ever. Messi realised that he couldn't stay further.
