Yes to the pelvic floor release video! 😊🙏🏽 I've heard about the risk of over-toning and becoming too tight, perhaps due to pelvic floor exercises, or otherwise frequent contraction. This is quite frustrating since pelvic floor exercises are emphasised so much and from early on! Is there any other way to avoid this other than practicing more relaxing and releasing?

I have to admit that when I arrived at the hospital and they checked my dilation which was 10 cm, laying back on the table for them to check me was the most painful contraction I had, if I was standing or on all fours it was much more manageable. Don’t labor on your back, it made it 10 times worse and I was only in that position for a few minutes!

Did you ever make the pelvic floor release video? If not please do, it’s definitely one problem I need to fix prior to labor. Thank you for your videos!!!

I definitely want the pelvic floor release if you don't have one yet. So far my physiotherapist gave me perineum stretch-related massage to release those muscles. It was pretty effective.

What are some effective and disarming ways to discuss mistake 2 with your doctor? One of my Obs basically said being on the back is best. I have done research and know that to not be the case, at least most of the time. I’m 38 weeks pregnant and now, I’m thinking I don’t want that OB to deliver my baby.

First baby in public hospital. I'm nit sure if they'll allow any other laboring positions besides the back. Still practicing and praying for positive birthing experience 🙏

Depending on what country you are in… this can be a big challenge. However, it’s your human right to birth in a position comfortable for you. ❤️

Same here. In my country you can do other positions in a birthing unit but not in a public hospital.

They should let you labor anyway you want to . Even if they want you to be on you're back you can say no and they have to listen

i wanted to birth on my side but the dr told me to birth on my back 🙃 my midwife was not able to be there for my birth and we had discussed other positions for birthing. all in all i did an all natural birth and pushed the baby out in under an hour. so I'm happy 👍

I really wish I had found your channel before I gave birth. This is such useful advice and sharing studies and evidence really helps. It could have helped me be more assertive in saying No to the midwife and OB. Will definitely recommend you channel! Thank you so much for doing this and making this information freely accessable and easy to understand.

This is very interesting and I'll have to keep these in mind in case I'm ever pregnant again. I wonder, what position should I have used when my son was born.. Because contractions had been going on a LONG time (days), my water was broken in the hospital and after, I went in less than an hour from 4cm dilated to fully dilated and I guess it happened so fast my body was in a bit of a shock, I was in a birthing tub but my legs started shaking so much I couldn't stay upright, I also tried at first kneeling on the bed but I was shaking too hard so in the end, I gave birth lying down 🙃

I had to birth on my back because it was the most effective pushing for me. I tried squatting, kneeling, standing and on my back helped for the last 30 minutes.

They had me basically laying flat on my back when I was pushing 😅 I pushed for 3 hours and ended up needing forceps because she just wasn’t coming out. I really wish I knew about other positions I could be in because on my back it was near impossible!!!

What if the midwife tells me to push when my body isn't ready to? Will she let me wait until I'm ready to labor down? I have a doula, so at least I'll have an advocate if that should happen.
