Too funny about the pencil. I noticed it right away from earlier videos. I’ve used them for a couple years and love them... so does my son who is constantly trying to borrow it.

For some time now, I have had Amazon bookmarks in my browser favorites for you, Jay Bates and Samurai Carpenter and I buy a lot of stuff - I think the only downside is that if you normally do Amazon in a away that benefits a charity, you cannot do both. So, I alternate who to benefit. Love your stuff and it appears you have stepped up frequency - thank you for that.

Ahhh, you covered these pencils too. Center punches I'm spoiled with the automatic Sterrett A5 and whatever the smaller one is (4?) Love those things. They're self centering but I can live with that. Matched them with two Sterrett manual center punches.

The gauge to check drill bit sizes would save me sooo much time when trying to find the right size

I like a 2mm lead holder; works great. 2mm lead/graphite is basically the center of a normal pencil without the wood. They can be sharpened to a nice point.

Love these videos. Been using that same pencil forever. Get the .5 size if you have an Incra ruler, it fits the slots perfectly.

I've been using the super bar for many years now as well as the master plate, which is a precisely ground and flattened plate that goes in place of the sawblade and works with the super bar. It's everything it says it is and I've kept my saw setup within a thousandth of an inch, checking it periodically. One important thing I noticed is the mobile base was causing my saw to get knocked out by 3-5 thousand every 3 or so months. This went on for a few years until I got sick of it, got rid of the mobile base and set the saw on concrete and leveled it. I've since checked it and it hasn't budged at all, in several years! Great tool and it set me straight on mobile bases on tablesaws. It always makes me cringe when I see some KZfaqr put their saw on a mobile base so they can wheel it around the shop! I'm really surprised this topic hasn't come up. BTW my shop is a small one car garage and yeah it's forced me to accept the fact that my large cabinet saw is there to stay.

Great video, and I'll surely be picking up a few of these tools myself! Just a quick note on proper use of the Roto Tape Compass. You should make sure you're only holding the pin and not the whole body of the tape, like you were at 8:10. Restricting the natural motion of the body changes the point of rotation (and therefore the center of the arc) from the metal pin to the the area of the body where the tape exits. This will throw off your radius as you'll lose a couple inches from what you measured out on the tape. Just best to always focus all your pressure only on the metal point and let everything rotate around it the way it was designed. That being said, this is the first time I have ever heard of that tool, and I love it! Ingenious! Thanks again for all the content you put out; it's immensely helpful and informative.

Enjoyed the video as usual. I do have a couple of comments regarding the saw set up measurement device. First, it appeared that the reading stayed pretty much constant until the gage got to the middle of the blade and then most of the deviation showed up on the back side. Is it possible the blade was a bit warped? Second, it looked like you were using a saw stop saw and I would be very interested in seeing a detailed video of how to make adjustments to the blade alignment and blade tilt stops on this saw. Are you aware of any such videos? I know the manual is very complete, but like many, I’m more of a visual learner.

Love your videos. Always something new to find. I wish to point out a slight error (at least I believe it's an error). In the part about the gauge for checking blade alignment I believe you should have rotated the blade front to back so the indicator is checking the same point on the blade instead of how you showed it. Sorry to be that guy, but I think it's an important point. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As usuall James good tool suggestions and tips i and many of my Coworkers got used to. Using the pretty inexpensive Bic plastic mechanical pencils but i Do like the features in the one you pointed out and I'm pretty sure I'm going to do that upgrade since the mechanical pencil is one of the best tools for Woodworking IMO the center punch is pretty slick ive aquired. A fair amount of self centering drill bits over the years but. Do get tired of them jamming up with debris as i find it pretty. Frustrating. To have one i paid almost 50 bucks for not work very well ?

James, if I am seeing correctly, you also have a router wing on your SawStop. If I am right, will you be dropping that wing and replacing it with your Rockler router table? I am looking at purchasing the SawStop to replace my aging Craftsman table saw, and of course I am looking at all the attachments. Since my shop is a smallish 2 car garage, I want to reduce my tool footprint as much as possible. I have drooled over Rockler's and Wood Pecker's router tables and lifts, so hearing your review of Rockler's lift is helpful.

Hi James, I thought when you check for runout on the saw, that you're supposed to measure off the same tooth on the blade vs sliding across the blade as you did. Aren't you risking measuring the blade this way instead of the table? Thanks.

Is Rockler toilet paper any good?

The thickness Gage doesn't go thick enough.

For convenience and security reasons I use the amazon mobil app exclusively, unfortunately there is no way to currently open affiliate links in the amazon app. Amazon really needs to correct this, but they won’t do it without affiliates like you requesting it.

FYI, phenolic is not acrylic. Phenolic is ...wait for it ...phenolic! A thermoset polymer, most often made int to very hard boards (like printed circuit boards) by forming a laminate of layers of uncured phenolic and a fabric like linen, cotton, even paper, then it is pressed at very high pressure and a temperature that will cause the liquid to set and harden. It is good stuff to be sure, very chemical resistant, hard, machinable, does not soften when heated, relatively inexpensive, not limited in thickness like thermoplastic polymers.. I am not sure if it takes a finish well. I have never seen it painted. They definitively press it with different colors.

Did you check the run out of the saw body before you started making adjustments to your saw? You didn't show doing so in the video. If your saw blade has run out you're just wasting your time making adjustments.
