Old cop needed his ego stroked so so badly when he got dipped on. He took it out on you and you handled it like such a gentleman. Truly inspirational how good of a dude you are even after you explained how you don’t know anyone and he still wanted to ego trip on you. Also, when he asks you to turn off your camera… that’s a federal offense and a $2,066 ticket, good on you for giving him a warning 😂

Don't ever turn your camera off when a cops tells you to. Even if you think he's about to do you a favor. Pretend to turn it off, they cannot be trusted. The fact that they even pulled you all over to begin with is ridiculous. Yall were being respectful, keeping the speed down and not bothering anybody. They were out for revenue, nothing more, and they deserve no respect for that.

He must have a reasonable articulable suspicion that you committed a crime. 2) What’s his probable cause for the arrest. Detainment is an arrest because you’re not free to leave. 3) Don’t answer questions. It is your right to remain silent because everything you say can and will be used against you in their kangaroo courts. It is not your duty to assist them in building a case against you. 4) It’s against the law for him to threaten, coerce, or intimidate you. Title 18 USC 241 & 242, read it. They must treat you with the utmost respect bro, it’s in their policy, they work for us. They disrespect us because we don’t know our rights. The next time they pull you over ask for their name and badge number. Ask do they have a body cam and is it on. 5) Keep quiet until he decides how to violate your rights and he will. If he gives a ticket, always sign your name, John-William: Doe UCC 1-308 or in Georgia 11-1-308 All rights reserved. 6) Use a red marker and write at a 45 degree angle on the ticket, “I do not consent to this charge nor do I wish to contract with the State. Before 72 hours, take the citation to the court clerk, have her to stamp it and give you a copy for your records. You don’t suppose to know this but………🤐 I’m in Georgia near Athens, you want to talk about, I’ll give you my email and we’ll chop it up. It pissed me off when the Sargent disrespected you. I just scolded 4 Jefferson, Ga cops for using profanity against a man for an alleged crime. I appreciate good policing but most cops are out of control, peace! 👍🏾

You did good staying cool and respectful. If all the cops were as cool and respectful we wouldn't have so many problems. Unfortunately, many officers in that area are d-bags, probably from bad leadership. While he definitely could have been worse, it was still clear that the supervisor was one of those and just wanted to flex. Calling a group ride a club is ridiculous and shows his disdain for the public he is supposed to serve.

I'm retired LEO. MANY cops today are A-holes, in fact I would say MOST who stop you for BS are A-holes. I was stopped once many years ago for ..... worn out windshield wipers .... nope, not raining! I was working undercover and had long hair .... go figure. When I identified myself, he said: Oh, I thought you were an Azzhole. I replied with: I AM an Azzhole. It is a violation of rights to stop a group and keep you waiting while they go through everybody. I guess I would be the guy who just rode away after they stopped everyone and didn't approach me right away! At least everyone else would be able to leave as the cops chased me down and kicked my ass! AND yes, that's what would happen!

No tag could be an honest mistake, like in this case. If it’s not there are other charges to make up for it, like impound and jail. A tag bent in a certain way or mounted far enough under the tail is done on purpose to conceal. Intent is definitely a part of it.

This is literally a normal interaction with cops in Florida. For some reason FHP and general municipal police in Florida lump all riders together and can't seem to see anything on an individual basis. It's happened several times to me in my area, to the point where no one wants to group ride because we spend more time getting pulled over than riding. Who cares if the dude in the front of the group ran, the rest of the group was being respectful and riding within the laws of the road, why the police have to get out and act all big chested is beyond me. Could just be professional and thank the rest of the bikes for stopping, instead all you did was pin yourself as a douche canoe no one wants to deal with. "I'll go get him later with a warrant" my response would have been "Sounds like his problem" D knows to take it easy in FL! FHP don't play! 🤣🤣 Can't wait to upgrade my bike someday and come find y'all on a FL ride. Be safe out there bruh.

I ride in FL and have gotten away from FHP 4 times. I see them and boot scoot boogey before they get close enough to read my tag. Besides that a simple filter screen over your tag defeats those Tag Grabber Camera's they got. F'k em. 1100 bucks for a bent tag is ridiculous. Swoop down to CT, whole state has a no chase policy. It's not worth their time to chase a bike. Also that cop saying that they'll get a warrant for scanning the tag of the guy who fled is BS. Unless you are a squid with visible tattoos or something showing there is no way they can prove it was you riding the bike.

(To answer your question around 4 minutes) The only time I did a group ride of 40+, there was a huge disparity in skill set, and people were all trying to catch up to eachother instead of riding their own ride at their own pace. It was mayhem. A couple of my friends weren't used to riding at all, so I told them to stick together, ride at their own pace and meet me at X spot. In the end, parts of the group got lost in the process. I think we ended up being like 12 at the last area we were supposed to go. I'd rather be in a group of 2-5 that I know and I'm used to ride with. That way, rules are clear, there's no one trying to impress others and fuck people's day. Right now I'm exclusively riding lone wolf, because all my riding buddies traded their bikes for something else.

Same here, I met up with a group about 10 years ago for a mystery ride from a FB post. We started off with about 30 or 40 bikes. Once we hit the beltway, guys were all over the place running triple digits. Then my buddy who was a new rider downshifted wrong and bust his crankcase open. So I went home got my pick up and ramp. My cousin who was also on the ride sent me a pic of a rider down with his whole thigh split open. A total of 5 or 6 riders went down.

He didn’t jack you up like he could have so I won’t criticize too much, but this whole thing felt silly on some level. Where I Live, I'm from the MEA, if you get caught with no tags or the tag isnt straight you will get a 150$fine,they take your bike for a month,and a trip to the mayor's office, you will have to sign some papers that you will never do it again in your life, or you will get some jail time and they take your license!!

MEA? And where I live if you have insurance and it’s registered to you they usually let you go with a warning but if they catch you again with no plate it’s a ticket I’m pretty sure
