Carnival is calling, so we leave Saint Helena to reach Recife in time. There's not a lot of wind but enough to have a decent trip with the big sails.

Hey Folks, Canada here. Been following your videos for years now. Love them, yeah and the both of you. Any way, I just watched this vid yesterday, and just how watched " The O'Kelly's ; Huge Fail Mid Ocean , Outremer 55 , Atlantic Crossing , Part 2. Published six days ago. Same problem, same time line. I think the both of you have found a dangerous design flaw.. Check it out, if you want. Stay safe, and keep having fun.

Yes I saw it. There is (always) room for improvement, the Outremer 5X which is a bit bigger uses a double halyard to reduce the forces and has another element in the top to guide the sideways movement of the spi. I suspect that in case of Moonshot it might have been a combination of a last minute new sail and hoisting this swivel too high against the trumpet. Stuff like this happens no need for drama.

Hi, Have ever tried putting a snatch block on your sock line and draw it down to the deck. Then when you are raising or lowering it you are pulling up instead of down. It makes life a whole bunch stable for the person raising or lowering the sock

Yes we do when there is more wind. With again more wind we bring the line to the electric winch on the foredeck just to prevent it from going up again

Looks like you had a much better crossing than moonshot. You make handling a massive cat with huge sails look easy. We all know its not. See the moonshot crossing for evidence. More great content, thanks for sharing.

The Moonshot crossing was not far away from what is to be expected on the Atlantic. Loosing the spi is unfortunate but it does happen a lot, both on standard and performance cats. In our first Atlantic crossing 4 out of 5 Wingakers blew up before being halfway

That said the South Atlantic crossing seems to be pretty calm in comparison to the north one

Somehow, I always imagine the sea south of the equator to be crazy and cold and misty.... beautiful video again.... those drone shots are amazing.... how long(battery life) can that drone stay in the air?

Ja ik heb het gezien, het beste idee is denk ik om een dubbele halyard te gebruiken zoals op de 5X

Hi, a bulle talie is called a preventer. Also the weather is forecast rather than forecasted. Otherwise enjoying your videos. Great to see you are focusing more on sailing and sail change rather than endless shots of the nav station display. You could think about adding footage of on board chores as cooking etc. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed st Helena as much as I did a few years ago. Cheers, Peter. (based in Whangarei)
