When you freeze breastmilk, make sure you write down also the time you pumped it. The reason for that is; In the evening your milk has more melatonin so the baby sleeps and daytime milk has more cortisol to stay up. When u pump and freeze u dont know which one you are giving the baby afterward, if you give daytime milk at night baby is going to be up and vice versa👍🏼 Make sure u write down the time🙏🏼

I breastfed all three of my daughters but I’m not gonna lie-that was 28 years ago and breastfeeding was just starting to come back “en vogue”. There weren’t near the resources available that there are today and I struggled hard. But I wouldn’t give up because deep down I knew it would help my babies in the short and long run. I suffered through mastitis with my first which was so hard and caused one breast to lose production significantly. I had to rent a powerful breast pump from the hospital because the manual pumps were just so exhausting. It was a part of my life I look back on and I can say I’m proud I did it and I have three beautiful healthy 20 something’s now to show for it. If you’re struggling with breastfeeding and you decide to give up don’t feel ashamed or like you are less than but do give it your all and not quit prematurely as it’s one of the most rewarding things in this life for a mother. ❤

Hopefully you'll be able to stay home 24/7 with your baby, so you won't need to pump milk on a "regular basis". That said... pumping encourages MORE milk production so it's best to avoid, if possible - unless you're going out for dinner & hiring a sitter, or having to work or go to school, etc.,... I nursed 2 daughters back in the early 80's and was successful with both. It's not only natural, it's a BONDING EXPERIENCE with your child that will last for life, so enjoy! (1) I'm not gonna lie - my tiny boobs turned into "hard grapefruits" when they became engorged as the milk first came in, and not only was this NOT comfortable (at all!), the milk would literally squirt out by itself, about 2" from my body. It was like, "Quick, grab a clean washcloth!!" 😅 But this all went away, after a short time! Guess the body just needs to adjust to the whole "supply & demand" thing.... 😊

Question to the Mommy's having tough sleeping schedule, how are you putting them to bed? Are they being kept awake as much as possible during day? I totally feel the no sleep pain. My daughter had colic. Talk about HELL ON EARTH! but my son, he was a breeze. I started adding the SMALLEST amount of baby cereal to his bottles at bed time, (he was 4 months) made sure I gave him a night time bath with warm water and lavender (I Believe it was lavender) it helps relax them, followed by a nice warm, -not to thick- bottle, I'd wrap him NICE AND TIGHT in his snuggle blanket and he slept 6 full hours the first night, and 7+ the second night on. I was up before him, thinking something was wrong because he was still asleep LoL. The little things do add up to make a difference!

I've done this 6 times. Well, technically 5 times. I gave birth the first time at age 17 and gave my tiny newborn up for adoption, placing her in the home of a loving adoptive couple who'd been trying unsuccessfully to concieve for nearly 10 years. That was a different type of postpartum experience altogether. I remember my mother ripping a white sheet into a long, wide strip and helping me wrap it tightly around my chest as a binding to help dry up my milk supply. She pinned it in place with two large safety pins while tears ran down both of our faces. I remember my body feeling like a hollow, empty bag of skin and the heartache that penetrated my whole soul. Postpartum is hard even under the best of circumstances, postparum mom's in every situation need all the love, help and support they can get.

@3334me3 ай бұрын
Sometimes you have more milk than baby needs right then. So you're swollen and need to release the milk , but baby's full and doesn't want to nurse. So you pump instead and save the beast milk for sometime when maybe your in the shower , or maybe Dad could feed the baby. Also when the baby's a lil older Mom and Dad could go out for a date night or something and the babysitter can feed the baby with the saved beast milk. Also you can donate beast milk to premature babies in the hospitals and there's a market for it online as well for Moms who want their babies to get the benefits of beast feeding , but they can't because they don't produce milk or maybe just not enough milk. So yea

If you're experiencing that much leakage we all know babies grow out of newborn diapers extremely fast and usually alway have extras left over try using those in place of the breast pads. They also help to keep the moisture away from the nipples so you don't get so sore and helps keep the bacteria from the dampness away. I was told once that I was weird because I always wiped mine before and after feedings. But it was just my preference.

You are doing fabulously! I breast-fed three kids who all gained weight in the hospital! Your breasts are better behaved with the second and subsequent births. Pressing firmly the over the center of your non-feeding breast helps hold the milk back until the letdown passes. Nursing in a side lying position is one of my other favorite tips! it was especially helpful since I had to have three C-sections. I would nurse the baby on the breast closest to the mattress then lean forward to feed from the second breast. I usually changed the baby in the middle of feeding to help it stay awake. Babies have total suction from mouth to bum so when they’re feeding they often blow out their diaper. You can easily burp baby by just sitting it up against one hand while patting its back. 💞

I always said i could feed the county. My second born in 82 nursed 3 1/2 and she did not want to stop then. She now has 3 children and had a difficult time breastfeeding. This is just reality of when you breastfeeding... I wish! My son struggled with gaining weight since birth, but we continued breastfeeding. 5 weeks postpartum I had an emergency because there was still a piece of placenta and therefore a second surgery with again a lot of bloodloss. Because of hospitalisation we had to give formula. I pumped (even if it was frustrating to see just a few drops), ate healthy and a lot, drank a lot but it wasn't enough for 7 weeks. With a lot of effort, trust in my body and the ability of giving milk, powerpumping etc. we achieved finally 12 weeks postpartum to nurse without formula 🙏 It was a long way but so rewarding

Testemunho lindo ❤ edificante!
