And the father who lost his daughter. I saw the defendant smile at him then the father lunged at him. After they got the father up off the floor you could see the grief and pain in him as he said 'he smile d at me'. I felt so bad for the father.

Anyone responsible for a death (premeditated or unprovoked), especially of a child, deserves life in prison. I have some respect for these judges that didn't charge the family members for attacking the perpetrators. I would tell the police to stand down for 5 min. Then take their sweet time breaking the fight up. It's a deserved partial justice for those who are grieving.

Judges are people too, something we too often forget. Their job is to administer the law and the law can be rigid, and they are expected to demonstrate resilience (they have to be there to hear and assess all the facts and testimonies) but they can look at circumstances like this and appreciate how truly awful, aggravating and traumatic it is. They can and do exercise discretion in many scenarios, this is one that perhaps calls for more discretion than usual.

I can definitely empathize with the loved ones of the victims desire for vengeance. That got me thinking about gangs. We often see people in gangs as savages but a lot of the people in gangs see themselves as family and when someone hurts one of their loved ones they desire vengeance and justice as well. I know this isn’t a perfect analogy but looking at it from this perspective makes me more empathetic to the experiences of others.

It’s the legal system. We have laws and to quote the movie Shooter, “…it’s not the Wild West where you can clean up the streets with a gun… even though sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed.” I feel for every person who attempted to do something in these situations and if in my book they’re justified.

Anyone committing these crimes does not deserve to be in prison where they get 3 meals a day and probably privileges. The state pays for these guys which could be used for better purposes than keeping these low lifes fed and housed. I know execution has been banned and sometimes I believe there is good reason for it. But when you have someone who knowingly takes a child's life without remorse, that's the only thing they deserve. Same with the guy who smiled at the son whose mother's life he took from him. I applaud the judgement of death for the second guy. These are fkg animals and don't deserve to live on this planet.

The guys who lost their mother 0:30 and the other man who lost his daughter 1:32 I’m sickened by the fact that I had to watch these guys as they absolutely lost their minds with so much grief and agony that our country was forced to pay for however long dad and son were in jail for. Because EVERYONE should have stopped moving and allowed these men, a father and a son, to dish out the kind of reckoning that those two murderers so truly deserved. And the fact that the son and father were even charged and made to sit in jail is what’s wrong with society.
