This is a full Acrylic Pour Tutorial with 6 Easy Beginner Techniques done with the same 6 colors throughout for comparison. At the same time we also see a comparison of cells with each technique demonstrated with silicone vs without silicone. Colors included in this video are Monastral Green, Magenta, Medium Yellow, Purple, Orange, Deep Cyan, and Titanium White.
Paints are all by Mont Marte and are mixed 1:1:1:1/2 with Elmer's Glue : Paint : Floetrol : Liquitex Pouring Medium plus water as needed. As a Paint mixing recipe this would be 4oz Glue, 4oz Paint, 4oz Floetrol, 2oz liquitex Pouring Medium, water as needed.

Thank you so much for all the tips and for showing the entire process of mixing the paint ratios. I think my favorite one was the open pour. I really like the cells in the flip cup one with the silicone though. What do you have to wipe your painting with after it dries if you use silicone?

I wait for it to be completely cured and acrylic paint needs at least 3 weeks. After full cured, I use wet paper towel with dawn dish soap to gently wash the entire surface. I have seen people add rubbing alcohol and windex to the soapy water as well. I would recommend washing it well and going over it again with just wet paper towel to make sure all the soap is off and then let it sit a day before putting any varnish on it. Also, before washing the front, do an edge to make sure it's safe to wash it. A little damage on the edge is nothing compared to ruining the front.

It was in a set of all different sizes and I found it at dollarama. Dollarama is wonderful for that kinda stuff. They had a few different shapes to pick from as well :-)

If your using a tube paint like Amsterdam, how much is one part in this ratio?

I would use the same ratios/measurements for the glue, Floetrol, and liquitex pouring medium and use more water in the end to get to the right consistency.

@@ColorfulCreationsbySarah Okay thanks. We don’t have Dollarama but will keep my eye out at our Dollar Tree. In the meantime metal ring molds should work or plastic PVC pipe couplers.

You can use anything for an open cup. You can take a plastic water bottle and cut the ends off too. Or any cookie cutter. You have walmart right? I think walmart or dollar tree would have something like that. :-) good luck 👍

I will say though that if you are using a paint much thicker than mont marte, you may need a bigger mixing cup or you could mix everything except water first and then divide that mixture into 2 cups before adding water. Just so you have room to mix without spilling it everywhere.
