My favorite hidden feature of the new ranger key is that it shows you the nearest trash can to throw it out because rangers are trash.

I gasped when he showed that the key opens the door and omg don’t get me started on the tail gate I think that’s the single greatest idea ford has ever came up with like who would think of that 😂

You forgot it actually detaches from the fob so it stays on your keychain! That’s amazing, I can’t believe they thought of that

Yeah so true like this can be used in some places of the car when the battery is dead me wondering were those places could be: maybe to remove the antenna and the mirrors or just go to the lights of the car you just bash the key in and woila you have a hole in your light

Great for Ford. You guys have came such a long way. My grandfather has a 91 Ford ranger and has to use two separate keys. One to unlock the door and one to start it. I can't believe that you guys have managed to come up with the technology to combine them both into one key.

forgot that I spent $49 on an accessory. it is the tailgate slow open shock that allows you to open tailgate and let it go to slow open by itself. very useful information that my salesperson did not cover. a locking tailgate has NOT been an option on most vehicles until lately so that is great for us that have a bed cover. modern keys are very complicated and for us that are not IT literate, very discomforting to use. will have to back to the dealer as I had to get a new phone.

So it does all the things a key will do, got it. That information on starting when the fob is dead has some merit. Many other cars due actually want you to use the fob to press the button if its dead so knowing about that other location is handy. Not sure why you need to remove the rubber in the cup holder though I'm sure it can sense through that thin rubber.

Can you open the door by proximity with the fob? Or do you have to press a button on the remote? My 7 year old honda accord has that feature where you simply walk up to the car, grab the handle (and if the key is in your pocket within proximity) and it unlocks. You never have to take it out of your pocket. Is this the same way or no?

TLDW, it's a key, it unlocks things. The first cup holder closest to the back seat is NFC enabled, so is the fob, drop it in the cup holder if the fob is dead. Spare tire, tailgate, and doors are lockable with physical key.
