This video is entirely dedicated to myself which is why I titled it "my honest reasons why I left DepEd" so if anything doesn't go your belief, it doesn't mean that any of what I've mentioned is wrong. It's my story and thoughts to share. Third, paki-quote nga po yung part na minamaliit ko ang deped or teachers sa deped. This video was made full of optimism re teaching experience so DO NOT spread negativities here. In fact, I am indebted to everything that I have gone through DepEd at malaking help sa akin bilanh teacher ang lahat ng experiences kaya ako mas gumaling at naging mas effective na teacher. Lastly, MONEY has never been my drive to become a teacher. You can see it in this video if your comprehension is good enough. Sa comment nyo po, mas halata pang sa PERA ka lang masaya sa pagiging teacher. Do you think MALAS po ako (or kaming mga guro dito overseas) dahil sa P30K na sahod? Added teaching experience po ang nakakamit ko ngayon dito on top of what I have gained from the PH. I became more independent and more understanding sa culture ng ibang bansa WHILE still keeping a Filipino heart. Nagiging instrument kami for other countries like Japan to better appreciate our country PH dahil teacher ako/kami dito na may inaalagaamg image at reputation. Paki-explain nga po ma'am/sir kung paano kami nagiging malas sa kabila ng opportunities na mga ito? Dahil lang ba sa 30K pesos na sueldo kaya kami malas? Nakakaawa naman kung yun lang ang basehan nyo ng mga naga-ABROAD at OFWs, ma'am/sir. Ma'am/sir, kawawa naman ang mga students kung tulad lang ng mentality at asal mo ang matitirang guro sa Pinas. Uuwi na lang kaming matitino kung ganyan. 😁 #ethics

Don't be too hypocrite, besides there are lots of LET passers that are willing to stay in the Philippines to teach so bakit pa makikipag agawan ng item. Siguro there are teachers lang talaga who love both, teaching and high salary. Ako ganya ako, sa panahon ngayon mahalaga ang Pera. Hindi ako makakapagturo sa mga bata kung hindi ko inaalagaan sarili ko. Money rules everywhere. Ayokong ma stuck dito sa bansa natin and makahalubilo ang mga taong katulad mo, I love my country so much but not the people like you living in it. Thank you po for sharing your story. Dumadating tlga na nagku-cooldown ung eagerness at aggresiveness dala na rin ng napakaraming factors. Lao na ngayon, mahirap daw sistema sa DepEd dahil sa pandemya. Kaya halos lahat ng kakilala ko na teachers sa Pinas gusto na tlgang umalis ng Pinas or nawawalan na rin ng gana mag-strive for goals. Payong kaibigan po. Mas mainam cguro na sa sarili mo ka mag-invest ng effort. Realistically, nagmamasters tlga tayo para may added points kapag nakipag-ranking na for higher position. BUT, if we will start to change our mindset na parang "magnamasters ako, mag-aaral ako, magtitraining ako hindi para makakuha ng certification or rating. Gagawin ko 'to para ma-improve skills ko." Cguro kapag ganyan naging mindset natin, never po tayong mawawalan ng sense of goal. Dahil kahit ano pang unforeseen events or kahit saan ka pa mapunta, alam mo sa sarili mo na tlgang nag-improve ka at magmamanifest ung self-improvement mo kahit wala kang hawak na masters r rating. Opinion ko lang po, base na rin sa pinagdaanan kong decision. Anyway, I'm happy na may nakarelate dito sa mga reasons ko. Nakakatuwa lang na may mga taong very concerned pa rin sa future. Karamihan kasi sumasabay na lang sa agos. Pray and stay positive po.

Di ko naman sinasabi na lahat baad, pero marami talagang dumadaan sa ganung paraan, na napakaunfair both para sa mga nag-aaral talaga at nage-aim ng promotion na tulad ng sabi mo. Kung sana lang nako-compensate yung efforts ng teachers ng benefits from gov't at ng interest ng students to really learn. stay strong!

Hi Nino. I don’t wanna discourage you. If you think and feel that teaching is your calling, do whatever it takes to pursue this profession. Challenging lang talaga ang pagiging guro pero super rewarding sa feeling kapag nakikita mo na yung impact sa buhay ng mga batang tinuturuan mo. Pressing ang situation ngayon ng mga PH teachers dahil sa crisis. You have 2 options bro. Take the challenge and bring impact to somebody else’s life or detour. Two things: One, I believe nasa heart mo ang pagiging guro kya ka nag-enrol sa course na yan. Another, unpredictable ang future lalo na ngayon. Kaya kahit anong piliin mong course, meron at merong mabigat na challenge. stay positive bro. Goodluck.

I feel you po ma'am. ganyan din mga friends ko na nasa DepEd now. Two things: Pinas education needs you po especially right now na ganito ang situation. Another, pressure only lurks in the mind po. Try to think that each day is a mission. A mission to survive ( inspiration from within) and a mission to provide services for those innocent students na umaasa po sa inyong mga guro sa Pinas ngayon. (inspiration drawn from students) I know exactly how it feels to get up in the morning and do the things you are no longer happy doing. Pero yan po ang call natin (especially ninyo na mga teachers sa Pinas ngayon). Your efforts on prepping the modules, printing them out and distributing them to residences are really priceless. Again, be strong po. Saludo po kami sa effort ninyo na mga teachers sa Pinas ngayon.

Hello sir. Thank you for unloading your doubts and burdens here. It gives my video some sense of purpose. My opinion on this is pro teaching sir. I hope you understand but please weigh things out so that you won't get confused in the decision that you want to make. I know a few who share the same sentiments as you sir. However, my friendly advice would be to stay safer. I mean, jobs and workplaces of all kinds always have good and bad stories. Which has not right? Redirecting your path into another career would mean another story, another struggles, another standards to keep up with, another workmates to deal with, another adjustments to make and a lot of other unforeseen "anothers". It is true that you can always go back to the department (DepEd). Anyone basically can. But, everything is dynamic. Hiring standards may change. A lot of things may change that could possibly change the course of your life in the future. I have 2 friends. Their stories are 2 completely different. They both left DepEd. One returned home just about after 8 months of working overseas because she couldn't work along with others well. She hated deped and developed the same hatred at her new workplace. She wasn't able to handle the stress and challenges and the demands of the new environment. She went home and tried to get hired in deped but was unlucky for many reasons. One of which is that there has been a wave of newer, younger, more aggressive teachers applicants. Another reason, nothing seemed to have changed in the system. It's the same pressure cooker when she left. Now, amidst pandemic, she's left unemployed. My other friend didn't return. He got lucky. Either could happen to you sir. The bottomline is you can always go back. But think if you are just escaping or taking the risk. I personally took the risk and made a big decision when I left deped. I was sure that when I quit, I won't be coming back anymore. I was certain that things in DepEd would not be any less harder if I return. Instead of holding yourself back and playing a safe game sir, work yourself out! Do this sir. a. Visualize the things that may possibly happen if you choose to STAY or to LEAVE. b. pick the most reasonable option. c. forget about the things which you cannot control and which you cannot bring back d. work things out and keep going. You can always withdraw from the environment you are in but never give up on teaching. Sa teaching profession ka ba Hindi na Masaya? o sa workplace na naroon ka? Kapag na-identify mo na yun, dun ka mag-decide if anong action need mong I-take.

react lang ako sa ‘bulok na sistema’ na sabi mo. well, in my 5 years na experience sa deped, TAMA maraming nabubulok na sistema na dapat nang itapon. PERO marami din ung WORTH IT paring I-KEEP. Jan sa mga yan ako nag-grow kaya thankful pa rin ako. 😊 tungkol sa ranking mo na 1year mo nang hinihintay, cguro kelangan mo nang mag-direct inquire sa Division office about status ng application mo. 3 na bagay lang yan: 1. Mareremind sila, nakalimutan pala iprocess 😅 2. sasabihin na on process pa lang, waiting pa ng approval and ng available slots 3. may pinasok na silang iba kasi ranking is just done to document the process, pero ang totoo pinapasok lang nila kung sinong trip/malakas/may kapit na applicant. BOOM! realtalk. 😅 smile!

Hi sir Leighmar! Good to meet you here po. I have two important things po muna to point out bago ko isend ung Links re teaching here in Japan. Don't get me wrong po ha? 😇 One, I disagree when u said that you didn't/don't want teaching in the PH. You've studied for many years to earn that degree. I believe that you love it. And, you have to love the Job coz if teaching abroad is what you're dreaming of, then having a teaching experience in the PH is a huge advantage before setting your feet forward here in Japan. 😇 Another is about the pandemic crisis we've all been facing. Most of the applicants whom I've made contact with recently find it really difficult to apply, nowadays. Obviously, it's due to pandemic. Therefore, landing a job in the PH as a teacher while waiting for your Japan application updates is a good decision. That way, you'll earn enough experience which eventually will make ur work here far easier than to not gaining any teaching experience at all. Honestly, we (PH ALTs) all here are doing great because we've learned a lot from our teaching experience in the PH. 😇 I know how challenging teaching is right now in the PH. Likewise, the excitement to working abroad is as well in another level. But if you'll consider my advice, your life and work experience here is going to be smooth. Sorry haba ng reply ko.
