To the "friendly" Dogman story... In European folklore Werewolves changed every night, or at will. The full moon transformation was made up by Hollywood. Besides, there's no difference between Dogmen and Werewolves. People assume that Dogmen are their own separate species because they have never seen one transform into a human, but I assure you that Dogmen are the same thing as Werewolves: people with the supernatural ability to turn into a wolf or a wolf-like creature.
@laurielandis1313
@laurielandis1313 2 жыл бұрын
With all due respect to your comment. I can assure you that werewolves and Dogmqen are definitely not the same thing. Dogmen have tails, werewolves do not, Dogmen cannot change form, they are a species that always remain in Dogmen form. Werewolves do change from man to wolf form, do not have a tail and can like you said, they change on a full moon against their will. . Then you have Lycans , they are very much like a werewolf, but are extremely violent and pray you never ever run into one of them, they can change at will, and have cannabilistic tendencies. The rougarou is a Lycan, not a werewolf. The main difference between a Lycan and a Werewolf is that the former can shapeshift at any place or time. The latter on the other hand transform automatically on a full moon night and can’t control such transformation. Also, the term Lycan was first mentioned in Greek folklores while Werewolf traces its origin in old English folklore, specifically in the Americas following the Spanish invasion.
@fling-dutchman7842
@fling-dutchman7842 Жыл бұрын
@@laurielandis1313 A werewolf is a shapeshifter, a person who has the ability to turn into a wolf or a wolf-human hybrid creature. Quadrupedal werewolves look like exceptionally large wolves, they are the most common but, unless the werewolf is also large as a human, quite hard to tell apart from Eurasian or North American Timberwolves. Bipedal ones are quite rare, and they look kind of like the werewolves in Skyrim; human enough to walk upright, but wolf enough to run on all fours with a somewhat human looking torso and arms, though they still have the heads and tails of a wolf. Werewolves are what they are due to genetics, so naturally the moon would have no sway over them unless we're talking about the placebo effect, aka the strong belief that the full moon is what makes a werewolf transform making them transform. We also keep our human intelligence and reasoning when transformed, which is why none of the people in stories like these actually get hurt (we know better; we're not monsters). To add, there's probably several different breeds of people who turn into wolves (think like different wolf breeds; mostly the same but slight physical differences), just like werewolves aren't the only shapeshifters out there. However, the general rule is still the same; quadrupedal and bipedal ones, none of whose transformations are triggered by the full moon. The term rougarou stems from the French word loup garou which means werewolf, aka person who turns into a wolf. The term Lycan derived from the myth of king Lycaon, who defied Zeus by trying to feed him human flesh and got turned into a wolf as punishment. Werewolf in itself just means "person-wolf" or "person who can turn into a wolf". We're not inherently violent, neither are select breeds, and we do not turn into mindless, slobbering, cannibalistic monsters regardless of the moon phase. I suggest that you quit taking your information from Hollywood. And again, people only think that Dogmen exist because nobody has ever seen a werewolf take wolf form.

@@fling-dutchman7842 are you a shapeshifter? You spoke as if you are a werewolf? I do believe in shapeshifters. Your comment seemed to identify as one. Are you a physical shifter or mental or astral shifter? I am study shapeshifter magick and would love to speak to someone with experience in either types of transformation.

@ExSoldier762

Here’s the deal. Shape shifter or not. IF it breathes and bleeds, it can be killed. Period. 1. Proper caliber (10mm), 2. Proper ammunition (Underwood Extreme Penetrator) 3. Proper shot placement (forehead between the eyes) 4. A skilled marksman, not given to panic (hunter or better yet, experienced, trained soldier) Given these four factors the result is dead Dogman.

Yeah yeah yeah. Just don’t forget that those Old Bores made it possible for you to even exist. And the next time you see a REALLY old guy shuffling around town wearing a beat up, faded ball cap that reads Vietnam veteran, just remember that at one time, he was more BADASS than you could ever hope to be. Go up to him and just say: “Welcome home, ‘Nam.” He might just burst into tears. It’s happened to me when I tell them that. They never got the parades. All they got was spat on and cursed.

Hmmm a German Ulfhednar carrying a seemingly exhausted girl through the woods to leave her with a good human sounds more in character that lots of other stories. Probably was moving her closer to a trail of somewhere people would find her so they don't search the woods and run into the his lair.

Werewolves have always been a terrifying concept to me because of the inevitability. No matter how hard you try, no matter where you go, you will turn and you can't control yourself. It really taps into that primal fear of being hunted. Like, properly hunted, as if you were a prey animal

Only the grass eaters of our society feel that way. They are the sheep who are hunted by the apex predators and are easily taken. Hundreds go missing in the Appalachian Mountains every year. Very few are lost and die from exposure or medical emergency (heart attacks or strokes). Some are taken by Bears, some by Squatch and others by Dogman. A few more by human serial killers or Meth cookers. I seriously doubt that anyone properly prepared and armed was taken or even attempted to be taken. Predators can sense the presence of others who are clearly not prey.

Shooting deer by a feeder sounds like batting to me which is illegal. This takes all the sport of actual hunting out of it. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. How old are these kids that have guns and were left alone in the woods, Especially if one was crying I don't think they're Mature enough to have a gun, Or be left alone in the woods. Also illegal to shoot 2 bucks at 1 time without a tag I'm sure they didn't have. Are these supposed to be true stories? A dog man afraid of a little female as she said?
@vanessaashford9203

a lot of people in rural America let their kids start playing with hunting rifles stupidly young. Sometimes it helps them learn gun safety young, but it can also just as easily lead to horrible accidents, or at best them just being irresponsible and killing random animals they shouldn't and stuff
