This is one of the most definitive list of options when it comes to color cast and white balance. I've used some techniques before to varying degrees of success, but to have other options that don't use 'auto' adjust this is incredible. It's upped my game a notch in finding the right color balance. Cheers.

Thanks! This was worth it. I have old photos from a slide and with some this video was helpful in many ways, but with some of them, I couldn't restore it because of too much color damage. I appreciate the way that you share your knowledge with us.

Absolutely wonderful !!! - yes pls do more on lab - need a cheat sheet for all your tips and hints - maybe an living index, table, whatever, of "if you want to do this - then do these steps" - a concise cookbook if you will across all your videos.

Thank you very much! Great suggestion.. i'll look into that, maybe a quick website or a shared interactive document could work. +1 for Lab tutorial :)

@@Graphicalfinity If you do, pls do it as a living document so that for each one of your videos/tips, you add new "rows if a table" or paragraphs or whatever with links to the appropriate youtube video. Even for yourself this should be a handy index. Each one of your videos is full of tips, lots of info. All good. Could be a good candidate for affinity publisher ......

This appears to be exactly what I want to do to correct a severely red casted photograph that is 40 years old. I have been working with a copy of the photograph taken with a copy stand and Canon EOS M50 digital camera. I've already removed the paper texture and noise from the picture and sharpened the image and increased the pixels using three other tools and now need to bring this into Affinity Photo to color correct and also heal spots in the photo. There seem to be plenty of videos on using Photoshop; but less so, Affinity Photo or On1 Camera Raw 2022.1. This video comes the closest to the method I saw used in Photoshop so now the second part of my work begins. Thank you so much for the vide (which I will probably watch several more times before doing the work.). And I have subscribed!

Very good!!. I ask you a question: the color of the skin in the lighting section has a yellow that tends to green and in the shadows some patches of red. I edit with selective color or hsl. Do you have any other options.? Regards
@Graphicalfinity3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! If i understand you correctly you have 2 color casts (yellow/green in the highlights and reddish in the shadows).? If so, just thinking out loud, a quick fix could be to do 2 color cast corrections and mask them to the area's they need to apply. Depending on the situation split toning might also work, but all of this can be very tricky and really depends on the situation. Mostly if you want to match partial colors, HSL is indeed a good option, but selective color or a curves adjustment would definitely do the job too. As most of the tools do the same thing at the end, you have to use the tool you feel most comfortable with. Hope this helps.

thanks I just wanted to know if in a single command you can make corrections x act faster, a bit like the new lightroom wheel commands: good and thanks for the consideration

you fail to explain how you got the color cast into your fill layer!
@Graphicalfinity3 жыл бұрын
Hmm... which fill layer/method? :) I believe in the beginning of the video i mention something about how to choose a color for a fill layer (for the divide method): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qJ2hktCkrdinimw.html
@williampetit32343 жыл бұрын
Indeed I had to refer to the second example (substract method) to understand the system, but on your last (very good too) you say "as I have the colour cast..." in the layer etc add blend etc... it is here - how did you select te cast? it is not clear... thanks anyway!
@Graphicalfinity3 жыл бұрын
@@williampetit3234 I think you are referring to this part: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qJ2hktCkrdinimw.html The color cast color selection is very similar. I use the color picker tool to select a color what i thinks should be neutral or white. So I probably selected a color from her teeth. Hope this helps and thank you too!
