You are young, you had fun and came below your budget. You gained experience. Next time allow for a bigger budget for unexpected items. Judging from the comments, some had problem with the volume or the voice but to me it is fine.

Holli, you are looking fantastic! Love the hair. Excellent break down of your expenses, complete with pie charts. Nice! I really like that you are addressing how much you spent on restaurants and drinks. Yes, it was a lot, but you were on your first trip out and really deserved to treat yourself to a fun time. So I think you did exceptionally well. But if you wanted to spend more time on the road you could easily do so by preparing your own meals and drinking less alcohol...obviously. There are many van dwellers living a clean life on $500 a month. There are plenty of healthy meals they prepare cheaply on a single burner camp stove. Also, alcohol will indeed takes it toll on your body over time. When you are young you can get away with it, but when you get older you will have many health issues from drinking and hate that you didn't take better care of yourself. Have fun drinking occasionally BUT do so in moderation. My wife and I find you adorable and love watching your videos. Keep them coming please!

If you come you NY, park outside the the city then take the train in. Use apps like Postmates and Grubhub to make a quick buck. Also, consider going to soup kitchens for meals...just some things I’ve thought of.

I know you said you’ve used Mint before but that’s the one I use. Been using it since Feb of last year and I love it. So useful and really helps me keep track of my budget and see where I can make changes and how much I’m spending every month.

Eating out gets expensive, a van with solar panels and a fridge gives you more options. I ride a Cruiser so even less options. Out West I can find off-road stealth campsites, harder in the East. Keep on having fun and don't stress.

Very interesting!! You are only young once & I'm glad you did this! It sounds like you have a great support system meaning family & friends. You lived and learned and now seeing everything in charts really makes it real for you. I don't remember new Orleans so I will have to go back and watch. Thanks again for sharing your journey!!

Wow! Great Video. You made budgeting interesting. So skillful. You really did great on your trip. Sure you spent money at restaurants, but you were living in your car and that was your escape, your living room, your bathroom, and your kitchen. I only beat myself up, when I spend over $150 a day, because some of my best days ever... have cost less than $150. You did great traveling. Take it from some who just travels or waits to travel - You did great traveling... and you even videoed it.

I'm just glad you took the time to actually enjoy yourself along the way. Seems like a lot of people traveling, Rving, boondocking, etc., don't really take enough time to really enjoy themselves and the beautiful things they come across. We live, we learn.

Love how you planned it all out. I get paid monthly by my dads GI bill for me going to college, about 1000 a month. I usually make all my meals, I utilize gym memberships of course, but I usually end up with no extra money at the end of the month lol. I have some great easy recipes for van dwellers I'll have to make some vids :)

Yes, I did mention cooking your own stuff. I travelled across Oz on a regular basis, escorting oversize loads and rarely ate out. Maybe one roadhouse meal a trip. That would be about Au$14 or so. I would have an esky full of ice and a few days worth of food and restock in one of the towns we passed through. I carry a gas stove and gear in the back of my car and often grab a steak from the shop and cook out somewhere.

Okay, I know you said app, but I've been using a small planner to track my spending and it has been a lifesaver. So if you do better with writing stuff down or just want to try paper instead of an app I really recommend that. Really interesting to see how much I spend on everything. Definitely helped me cut down on how much random shit I was buying. Also I loved this video!

Walmart does oil change for $20. I would usually use them. But going forward, Ima change it myself. The way my car is, I can't see if they actually changed my filter since it's internal. Did your wheel fly off or the rubber on the wheel? I'm asking cause I had Jiffy Lube do a tire rotation on my car and they didn't tighten the wheel screws. As I went on my trip I kept hearing an unfamiliar sound. I pulled to the side of the road but was unable to pinpoint it. So, I exited at the nearest gas station and sure enough, the screws weren't tightened. Actually, those guys also broke my Glove Compartment on the same day. Haven't been back there since. I actually have no interest in eating out. I'll probably eat fast food if I do a cross country trip. McDonald's dollar menu for me. I may try other fast foods in the area. One of the reasons I prefer this is that I get to see my food being cooked or prepared. Plus, unless I pay cash, I don't have to worry about a $100 tip showing up in my statement.

Thank you for being honest. Many vanners spent a huge portion of their budget by eating out, you definitely are not unique. From our experience and talking with many. It seems like some of the issue is more a lack of cooking skills first, then working in such a small area, fewer burners and much less kitchen equipment, pans, pans, utensils and gadgets. This situation is beyond what many want to cope with and needing to wash a lot of dishes especially if stealth in a city, becomes a definite no. It is totally possible, we do a majority of the time, but takes a lot of effort and new skills to do efficiently. Newer to your channel, love this video.

If I was living freely and not thinking about costs, I would probably spend that much on food too. If people ate literally whatever they wanted, that’s how much it would cost. No judgment whatsoever. You’re living it up vacation style, I get it. I’m trying to save up my money right now in order to hike the AT and live more freely, and as I’ve been budgeting for that I’ve realized my number one expense is also food, so I’m trying to cook more. But since you’re traveling in your car I realize cooking for you isn’t easy. I appreciate your openness and honesty in these videos, don’t let others make you feel ashamed for being a living, learning, evolving being. ❤️

Ya, but keep in mind (In my experience) you're also often paying for a place to hang out, have AC / heat, be around people, have a comfortable table etc when you eat out while traveling, so it's really entertainment / social / home cost moreso than just 'food' But agree that make's it easy to get sucked into overspending on food / drinks vs at home you'd eat in more.

I wonder if you are going to get addicted to life on the road. Especially if you don't get a job soon. Seems you got 5.6K subs and it equates to about $560 in adsense. Thus if you went on the road permanently you would be at 15K subs and a $1500 check in about a year. Seems people want to know how to live in a car to save rent. You just seem happier with your friends and family around with a normal life in the big city.
