as far as i know walang “golden rule” na number pag dating sa gross margins kasi maraming factors involved. Gross margin = gross revenue - returns, allowances & discounts - COGS. Selling and admin expenses, and taxes are subtracted pa from that to derive the profit. Here are some things you need to consider pag dating sa pricing: 1) do you plan to compete thru pricing or product differentiation? If makikipag price war ka lower margins per sale but higher volume. Product differentiation allows you to enjoy premium pricing naman 2) risks involved - for example you are selling makeup na kahit na gaano ka kaingat magpack, pwede parin mabasag. Factor in that risk sa pricing mo to cover potential losses 3) pricing of competitors - mas tight ang margins the more generic your product is kasi anyone can offer 4) cost of capital - how much shinell out mo and ano ang acceptable returns sayo 5) your expenses - do you have rent, manpower, etc 6) your target market’s purchasing power But for me, honestly, what i’d do is run a discounted cashflow model. Tapos tweak the prices to achieve a good enough return on mu investment. Check if yung prices ba is akma sa market. If masyado mataas, evaluate if worth doing the business nga ba or better to put the money somewhere else or sell something else 😊
