I am (WAS) diagnosed with bipolar disorder. My dad knows I definitely have it, and calls me delusional. He tricks me into his ideas which I know what I do. (I know this is separate, but he also takes advantage of my constant memory loss) People seem to leave me because how frantic I get, but they dont know that I can see them. I also study how people act. I dont see it as a damn superpower. But, at least my boyfriend is patient with me. I am all over the place and cant even finish a topic, and then go to the next. I also hate it when people label me "special needs" because I have a handful of disorders. And then, when the kids at school don't know what it really is, so they make jokes. I take them lightly, and don't say anything, it it bothers me that they are uneducated. Edit: for spacing TW BELOW: Inappropriate actions such as touching sexually without consent Another edit: Turns out I'm autistic from a doctors diagnosis and so is my father. He uses his new diagnoses to excuse himself from all sorts of abuse to my mom, brother, and me. We have given him tons of chances to work on it. The things I've seen lately as a divorce popped up is very scary as he is violent and sometimes acts out. I am 18 now, moving out into an apartment. And trying to get some papers for a restraining order against my dad since lately he opened my shower curtain and commented on my body disgustingly as well as playing with me. I am very tired and hoping for the next step of my life as I move on. Thank you for the support of my venting and i am going to make it through life. Thanks.

reading this breaks my heart. i want you to know that you're very strong, dont let an ignorant individual define who you are. you're needs aren't "special" they're perfectly reasonable. you're strong as hell and i love you 💖

@@sea_of_love Awe, thanks love. I'm at least grateful that I have someone who is patient. He started to understand me because when I would talk to him, he found some sort of spark in me. And he understood my vent art, and saw and understood everything by looking at it. He says he sees my art as a "help" or stress message and he comforts me. My father kinda gives me vibes that it's a "romeo and juliet" love and said that I only love him so that I can run away. No, although I do enjoy school while it lasts. But my boyfriend is not even an escape in some way? He takes my feelings in and comforts me. I met him about 2 years ago and made him my best friend, and the last couple of months, he asked me. I didnt know what I was feeling because I rejected that I had feelings for anyone. Because I am "that bad". I've had a history to where I have this "explosive" behavior. It's some sort of trigger if someone would make me mad enough. But I couldn't control it when I was little and ended up getting expelled from many cop visits. I've been working on that, and everything else for a couple of years. I've really come a long way, and that's why I was crying while gaming on New Years. I really hope you are doing well, and I really wish you a good future, and luck.
@cadearoo1782

And the reason I'm venting or talking about personal stuff is because I'm a random person and no one knows me here. Except a streamer. But I doubt he'd ever see this. Edit: Also the anxiety. If I get face to face with someone I don't talk much, but then when I start to know someone and hear their topic, I go off and chat at times. It honestly scares me. And I also have this bad habit on hurting myself in class because of the anxiety itself. If I dont have my stuffed animal or stress toy, or even drawing supplies, I start picking and scratching myself. Sometimes without me even knowing

@Seth Wayne #500 Oi, thanks. I'm just grateful I get to go through life with him. He moved to a different school so he graduates early. He was behind credits in math, so that's why he took the program. He also said it's for our future. He is like those odd romantic people from those movies. It's really strange. He has 2 sides of him. 1: the side I first knew him by, which was full of dark humor and is really into English. 2: I discovered he was a softie and is really romantic. He is patient, and he knows me very well to calm me. Aye, we can both get through this dude :)

I don't know if this helps any, but everything you feel is valid. Both the good and the bad. You do not have to feel happy about your disorder, but do know that you deserve happiness regardless. Also, your father sounds like an abuser. Even if someone is not physically abusive, mental abuse is just as bad (and in some cases worse because it is not as easily seen by others). Getting out asap is not the worst idea. Because, again, you deserve happiness. Also, it doesn't sound like he has actually read Romeo and Juliet, so eff him. And don't forget that there are others in this world like you, even if not exact. I have clinically diagnosed moderate-severe depression, and while it is hard for me to wrap my head around all aspects of bipolar disorder, I know that it's necessary to disregard the stigmas tied to it because of how I experience stigmas tied to depression. I currently live with someone who has bipolar disorder and I am constantly trying to understand where they are coming from, and they are doing the same with me. When we talk about stuff, not just related to mood and mental disorders, I have the best conversations with them because of the scope of what they bring to the table. They are also one of the funniest people I know and can bring so much joy to my life. While we are not exact, we understand our own pain enough to work with the other. Finally, you sound like you might be in high school (?) and if that is the case just remember that high school is such a small amount of time in anybody's life. High school was many years away for me, and almost no one is the same as they were then. It feels like it's a lot because it's the only constant community that you have at the moment, but once you are out you will find other communities far more accepting of who you are as a whole. If you are not in high school, know that there are communities out there that WILL accept you for who you are as a whole.

Harshita Jain well wrong without having shown any sign of mental instability like self harm or extensive behavior you are not mentally ill. With this instability you one day end up at a psychologist who referrers you to a psychiatrist who then diagnoses you. Don’t go running around saying you’re bipolar when you have no experience and diagnosis. And your phone ain’t no psychiatrist just sayin

@@tobiy_ mental illnesses come also due to chemical imbalances in the brain but also to many other factors. You don't have to be born with it, it can also develope throughout the years (one example could be schizophrenia) . No wonder some people can experience a depressive period or anxiety one.

@tobiy_ 4 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s what I meant and said. I have a chemical imbalance in my brain that’s what’s causing mental illness. I’m very educated on that topic since like I said have bipolar myself and am going to a psychiatrist and psychologist since I was 15. back to what you said, yes mental illness can show later in life but you’re still born with it then. And just because a person has one depressive episode for maybe a short period in their lives doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill

@@tobiy_ I have to disagree. You don't have to be born with it to get it later in life. And people who have a depressive PHASE, during it are in fact mentally ill. As we both said before, it is due to chemical imbalances and even not eating enough etc can cause these imbalances. Imagine that even colder temperatures can make us enter a depressive state (no wonder, even if they are great places to live, Scandinavian countries have a high suicide rates). Btw I'm not trying to invalidate your point, because yes some people are born with it, nor your experiences and what you went through, but I'm just trying to "widen" the rage of your point

I understand, but not all people with bipolar are your father. I know it's hard to try and make that distinction, but it's important. We aren't all terrible people, in fact most of us are fairly normal!😊
@KxNOxUTA
@KxNOxUTA 4 жыл бұрын
Let's change perspective: People who are considered "normal" perfectly manage to do the same. :) His situation may not be positive (as of yet), but what if you take another step further away? What about your dad's condition being your chance in life? You have come to experience what effects certain behaviour pattern can have. Its your chance to learn how to handle things better. And in best case, your experience might even lead to you helping others. One of them could even be your dad. He may be giving others a hard time on top of maybe having a hard time himself, too. But there is much more to it. It's also about "letting him" (or leaving him with his challanges). If you so choose, you can not join the long line of "victims" to his circumstances. You can find ways for yourself, and that is likely to open doors for the rest of your family. There's no saying if (or when) they'll be able to step through them, but it's your best bet and maybe their best bet. If you can take this video and make it a habit to watch out for the positivs like a hawk, you may notice that things start to shift bit by bit. Even if they should end up just shifting for you, it'll be more than enough. I hope you can make choices for yourself that you can feel ccontent with most of the time. :)

Getting on mood stabilizers has really helped me balance my mind and keep me in a stable place. Yeah. Same. I feel like anyone who sees this video and comments about how they’ve had *so many* benefits from being bipolar must have the most mild cases of bipolar ever. My periods of depression have been so devastating to my life and functioning. I’ve failed in school, been unable to take care of myself and hygiene, and been unable to complete any work for long periods of time. Bipolar disorder ruins people and lives, and the unbelievable trivialization in this video is downright offensive.

@@cole9533 being a KZfaq content producer with a branded channel comes at a cost. By the time you have reached several million subscribers, and have monetization and merchandise for a channel you are under the control of the algorithm and can not freely create content which in today's big tech world would get you suspensions or bans. So all Pyscho2Go content has to be total positivity all the time. There are many kinds of mental illnesses and mental disorders, and you can not cover them all in depth or scope or with an opinion. To come out and say "I hate, I have had bad experiences, you should avoid certain people at all costs" results in triggering/cancel culture mobs rule judgement and virtue signaling apology videos. I will watch some of this channels videos but not all, and most times I honestly disagree with what they have to say, but I am a small fish with a channel with 24 subscribers no merch or money from sponsor adds, so making my channel fun just for myself. If you have any mental health or mental disorder I do not think on KZfaq you are going to find any channel who will not sugar coat the topic.

Was looking for someone to mention BDP 🤗 A lot of these symptoms do kind of overlap in various mental disorders. But there is actually quite a prevalence of BPD being misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder... You would have to go more in depth with the individual's "symptoms" and their underlying histories. In the end, most of these are just diagnostic labels to place the masses into generalized categories to undergo treatment with drugs rather than actually tackling the core issue.

I was diagnosed with both! So the last point in the video about feelings friends’ love so deeply, I chuckled because i definitely feel that way but simultaneously bc of borderline I very quickly start genuinely believing that nobody can love me for who I am and my friends don’t truly care about me It’s a wild ride because emotionally and rationally i feel my friends’ love but emotionally and irrationally i truly believe that they don’t love me It’s a dangerous duality and it shifts way too quickly

I was diagnosed with bipolar at 5 years old. My mom knew I had it from the time I was 3 but since the phsyciatrist's hand book (I don't remember the real name, I know it was an acronym) said that juvenile bipolar wasn't a thing at the time it took her 2 years and a psych hospital stay to get me diagnosed and medicated. I spent most of my childhood hating what I was and wishing I could change, whenever I had an episode after ward I would tell my mom that I hated what I was and every time she said "baby, if I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away I would". When I was 10 or 11 I realized that I did hate myself, but I also loved myself. I learned to talk at 18 months, I read the entire Harry potter series by the time I was 4, I drew, painted and wrote other worlds for myself. One of my favorite things to do as a child was go into the garden and pretend I was somewhere else, I could go to a tropical island, a fairy garden, a rainforest, all so real I could feel the sand between my toes, see the sparkles of fairies in the bushes, hear the birds and beasts in the trees. I lived a thousand lives before I lived a decade. Today I still write, I write when I'm sad, when I'm angry, when I'm happy, every mood swing I have is a new story, every twist and turn in my life is inspiration. So it's okay that my mom didn't have a magic wand, I made my own.

Oh MY gosh, I'm so so thankful for this. It makes me feel so good and hopeful about myself. I'm incredibly creative, but I don't have very many manic episodes to really say my creativity comes to life in those situations. I feel as if I'm very emotional, compassionate, and empathetic as well, so wow... this makes me feel like I'm not a disgusting burden of a barely human being. We have really full insides, don't we? That's really nice. I pray that everyone who struggles with this disorder is able to work with it, and work with it well. 💘 Use it to your advantage!!!

I was scared at first that this video would romanticise Bipolar, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I it ended up being. I’d been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder two years ago, but I had a hard time accepting it. I only came to terms with it when I heard the positive aspects of the illness. I’ve always been more creative, emotional, and compassionate than my peers, but I didn’t see the link for a long time. As is always the case, it feels good to understand and be understood.

I rarely leave comments, this video is an exception. The best way to live with bipolar is early diagnosis and treatment. The Carrie Fishers, Kaynes, and others are the exception. It is not a "super power" or a "gift". While treatment does not work with everyone it's the best chance you have not to hurt the people you love and end up isolated from all the damage you cause. I disagree with you on countless levels. I hope a manic person does not watch this and is encouraged to stop their meds or worst.

Man, after seeing this video, I’m like 95% sure I have this. Growing up, I’ve always had (and still have) anger issues and my parents and siblings never let an interaction with me go by without reminding me how “overly sensitive” I am even if they say something straight up rude that I would never say to anyone else. If I find out I made someone feel bad or uncomfortable, I feel like an awful person and instantly want to do whatever I can to make them feel better. Also, I really like connecting with people emotionally and I’m pretty quick to feel a great deal of love for them. I have many problems to work on but my “overly sensitive” nature has definitely made me a better person overall (least I hope so). Anyways, awesome video! Thank you

I was diagnosed with bipolar as a teenager a few years back. Long story short, I didn't like the idea of having to depend on meds my whole life, so at some point, I decided to cut off all meds and try to manage it since I thought it wasn’t that severe. I don't trust the whole medical process where I live. Simple, basic physical misdiagnosis occurred a lot, so I couldn't entrust my brain to some random psychiatrist. Anyways, I had a single bipolar episode where I lost all control. But with time I managed to find that (okayish) balance. The severity of the disorder varies from one person to the other, so I’m not encouraging people to cut off meds, and it shouldn't be viewed as an accomplishment. I just did what I thought best. And I guess I’m fortunate things are working for me. Watching this made me feel like bipolar is always going to be a part of me. Embrace your mood swings!

Sure, it might help strengthen these 5 things, but it doesn't give you them. This video is glamorizing bp and making it seem like it's a positive thing to have when it actually has cost me so much happiness ,time ,love ,relationships and way more

There is a big difference between side effects and symptoms of mania/depression. Yes, creativity and the energy that comes from within during a manic episode is something positive. But it is not great. People with BD aren't able to control the thoughts of creativity and they can't calm themselves from this energy. This is not great when you have to live in a society where being a mother, sister, employee, employer and all those roles we put ourselves in are not supported by the understanding of mental illness. No one is going to say "Oh, you are in BP episode right now, it's okay to not finish your work by the deadline."

If you don’t have extreme bipolar disorder and you can learn to get your moods closer to some middle ground, I think bipolar gives more than it takes. The problem is conquering the chaos, but it will make you stronger than most if you can. I’m on my way to recovering; feeling more stable again after a traumatic experience sent me into a cycle of very heavy waves over the past three years. I’ve had many strong depressive episodes: wanting to die, seeing no hope in the future, thinking I’ll never be functional again. I’ve also had strong manic episodes: being excessively energetic, to an annoying degree, and lashing out in anger over the smallest things when my expectations weren’t met. Becoming aware of the problem is one of the biggest steps to taking back control of your life, and the process makes you a better person than you would’ve been. Failing and suffering can make or break you, but it’s up to you to make the best of it in the end.

I feel like this is mostly directed towards type 1's. I'm type 2 so I really don't relate to all of these. My depressive states disconnect me with others and I feel drained being around others. I hate it when my girlfriend makes me go out with people she's type 1 and she doesn't understand that it taxes everything from me to be around others. She hates being home alone and I love it. It feels like my castle where I'm the queen and no one can hurt me. I get angry when she invites people over especially ones I don't trust or like. She feels like I'm being a narcissist but I just don't want my bubble being popped 🥺

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder this year. When I was in junior high school, there were news of cruelty happening on other countries and it was really affecting me emotionally big deal. When I shared that to my classmates, they interpreted it as me being scared for my own safety so they told me not to worry since the incident happened at the other side of the world. I was shocked with their response. I mean, it might have been at the other side of the world but people still died which is enough reason to be sad. That really made me realize that I get emotionally triggered rather deeply by events around me. It was actually really overwhelming to be flooded with emotions and sometimes, being emotional is interpreted as weakness. I had anhedonia which was a total opposite of having overwhelming emotions and that shift from feeling a lot of emotions to suddenly being hollow made me suffer a lot. I couldn't adjust well and I didn't feel motivated with life for a really long time.

Recently I was diagnosed with depression but after a few days they said it may actually be bipolar depression. I mean I don't know much about the difference but i do know that I've always been teased by my friends as being bipolar cause of my sudden change of mood swings, this was years ago before i was diagnosed with depression, i never took it to heart thinking that maybe I'm just very fluid with my emotions and may also be a side effect of me having irregular periods (like LEGIT irregular i often get periods 3-4 times a year). I've dropped out of college for the year to focus on myself but its sad knowing that you're family's constantly breathing behind your back, pressuring you to get it together and go back to school. They don’t get upset if something is wrong but I can’t help myself to smile (they actually usually try and change the topic when they see me happy because they know it does get awkward for me later) and are helpful when something good has happened and I’m scared. But I had to dump a friend reacently because she didn’t understand and care about it = I was in class one day and I got randomly mad and she noticed. She asked what was wrong but I just growled under my breath. She decided to not give up even after I told her to. I ended up yelling at her ... but since I have a cool teacher who knows about my problem o didn’t get I. Trouble
