Many people say when they are going through something they don’t want to go through…”I never thought I’d be here”…they don’t like WHERE God has them. Focusing on the “what” instead, means understanding and focusing on WHAT God is doing IN you for His purposes.

If you mean is He “firm” or “harsh” because we don’t treat Him as holy? I would say to an extent, yes, but moreso no. So many Scriptures come to mind that He doesn’t treat us as we deserve…He is faithful even when we are unfaithful, etc.

He isn’t nor did He will it to be or bring it to be. I mention that in the episode. BUT Even in the midst of life’s most difficult curveballs, God is present and faithful and comforting and moving pieces we can’t see and yes, pruning some things to make room for what He wants to do in, through, and for you next. I am so sorry you’re having to navigate the pain of divorce, Becky.

Becky, thank you for your transparency and vulnerability. I think Pres may not be able to speak to you from the place I can. My divorce rocked my existence, I hated it, hated the shame, hated the whispers, hated that it meant breaking up my family (raising children in separate homes) and I hated myself. My parents were married 25 yrs before my father was called Home. I watched them bury children, parents, rich, poor, sickness, health and all, I just knew I would only ever be married once. My marriage was unhealthy, for me or my exwife. I fought to convince myself and her that we could and I do believe had our yokeage been equal and commitment been as solid as the foundation, we could have made it work. But in the sickness of our marriage I made it an idol, the image meant more than my wife, and God. I was determined to force us to thing this thing out. Marriage is an agreement, then it’s a commitment to covenant where God and His identity take root in the man and woman and place themselves under him to close the cord. I submit, even though it aches, He would have you be full of His love than full on a broken marriage. He doesn’t call us to be without joy in matrimony this is why He hates divorce however He still loves you. He still calls you daughter and He would have you be with His Son per perpetuity than an unequal bondage. I do not know the depths of your marriage however if God’s pruning of your marriage is a reflection of commitment, He knows it’s better to be fully submitted to the Tree of life than to wither from an unhealthy connection. I’ll pray God keeps your heart and mind and in Him you find even more of His Fruit.

@@kevinakin03 oh no, I was commiserating with Sister Becky. I had to come to the knowledge of pruning in my divorce and it wasn’t until I was on the other side, well removed from my hardened heart and redeemed could I see that there was no malice in my pain, only deliverance and His glory.
