Your reason to downsize makes perfect sense. I myself want handbags between 10-15 no more no less. I agree I prefer fine jewelry over handbags especially if it is real gold or diamond, it has more value. My mother and my grandmothers have 21k gold they received as wedding traditional gifts and now it's triple the price.

Very good & personal sharing Irene, appreciate it. Same here, I’ll choose jewelry any day. I started my luxe collection with shoes, so big mistake. Luckily I don’t have many bags but shoes are overloaded. During pandemic I didn’t rotate them so I let go of many many pairs. I feel deep regret about it and I’m still downsizing them. Bags I don’t have much regret, only a few. And jewelry, no regrets at all. Love your story…. Just easy to evacuate the jewelry 🙏🏼♥️♥️🙌🏼

Totally agree Irene! I’m someone who tends to wear the same jewellery all the time - therefore cost per wear has already made them worth it. I’m very thankful that we don’t get as much natural disasters in the UK (not where I live anyway) but I can definitely imagine the horror and panic you must have felt when you had the flood! I've downsized my designer bag collection over the last few years from 30+ to 9 now, with the 1 in/1 out rule. It feels great to declutter what I don't use anymore and free up space. Definitely pick fine jewelry over bags, for the exact same reasons you mentioned. Most designer fine jewelry doesn't seem to hold their value as well, but I still very much enjoy wearing them. 🥰

What a right timing, am thinking over this these few days. Fine jewelry or handbag? I still love my handbags but i am also like you, very mindful if i need to add more. Ok, not that i had a lot of luxury handbags, less than 10 which i dont mind to add more but surely not more than 25 or lesser. I did get some jewelry too and am thinking to add the Cartier JUC. Hi Irene, i think jewelry kept me alive and going for the past 3 years. It is so boring when we all work from home. At least i can see my bracelets. But i dont think jewelry has a good resale value. Might be easier to sell bags preloved. So it all depends.

I’m really towards the end of my handbags collection. I don’t want to have too many and i stick with the classics. I am building my jewelry collection and got some nice pieces that I wear a lot. You can try leather cleaner. I have a video talked about my Louis Vuitton belt melted on my Chanel bag. I used that leather cleaner to clean it.
