@@codinginflow Anything that I can put on my portfolio any real life application that can demonstrate my knowledge as a next js developer with better UI. These days a lot of people are talking about SupaBase, React Query and also the T3 stack.

The comparison is between next and create-react-app. Not react. Next IS a server-side framework that CONSUMES React.

You can build apps with vanilla JS. That's what I'm comparing it with.

Not really. JS --> React is a much larger jump. The paradigms are completely different going from declarative to impartive. So it's a goofy ahhh comparison

This forces you to use a node backend. It's not really fair to compare Next and React in this context. If you have a React frontend but an Apache or any other kind of backend that isn't JS/TS based, Next isn't even an option. Also, I don't know if they made the image component better, but when it first came out, I couldn't compile the images to a static site.

You can use nextjs with any kind of backend to fetch data from

@@codinginflow I'm saying you need a node runtime, even if you are going to use it next to fetch from some other servic. A lot of apps use fullstack fameworks to begin with, where something else renders the initial HTML (Laravel, Django, Flask). You can use those frameworks in conjunction with React, but you can't with nextjs.

@Coding in Flow that's not what he's saying. You're basically telling him to use multiple servers. I would say that a node backend isn't a big drawback. But there are always trade off

i just learned nextJs and i felt i will stick to React for frontend and Node or Laravel as Backend . I don't know why but I feel I have more flexibility over my backend(?) if I'm using Node or any similar language for backend .

Nodejs will allow you to learn other front end and backends frameworks, Nextjs is basically stuck with React.
