Covered exactly the same issue about the MM a month ago, hopefully your video goes out there as well. The LT + SPG MM is a joke right now. TOO much mobility in the game = TOO fast battles = SLOW tanks can go F themselves = GG FINITO (as Skill would say). 1 EBR limit is a MUST have cap, but IMO even 3 LTs might be too much, as to game is already too fast for the size of the maps we have. 2 LTs can do all the work needed with EEEZ. Btw, when was it when we tested the ammo changes on the SandBox, what happened to this, WG? :D And oh yeah... the fact the we have to check out good or bad tanks ACTUALLY are from the third party sites, to see their "soft stats" or "hidden stats" is absolutely mindblowing + armor model... Freaking community has to do that for themselves... I mean it is not 1990 anymore where games were supposed to be 10MB. Oooh, I do not want to ruin my chill-day. Good talk Skill. Love you brother. ❤

So, last days as CC for Skill, huh? They managed to really piss off one of the kindest and most positive guys I saw online

I play this game since 2010. Closed beta tester, almost 11 years of experience now. And I can tell you that lately every year the game is just becoming worse and worse. The peak was around 2013-2015 IMHO, but suddenly they started to introduce broken premiums (starting with 252) than 1.0 happened and since than its a spiral going down without brakes. The gameplay itself just becoming more and more primitive, one sided. After the reworks of 1.0 all of the maps just started to become generally 3 narrow corridor, with usually one winning side, and that's it. The tanks get powercrept until to the point when now you have to load premium ammo to be able to damage the WEAK POINT of the meta tanks. And the matchmaking, after 11 years still lacking any skill-based balance and creating more and more of those monstrous battles where one team is literally the orange/red army, while the other is just green and above-average players. You can't do that in a game like this which involves and requires so much skill and knowledge in it's gameplay mechanics (think about spotting system, armor thickness, gun stats, map strategies etc.). And the saddest thing is (and here I'll be disagreeing with you Skill) that WG probably exactly know about these problems, and potentially know how to solve this, but they don't care, because they don't have to. Sh*t is still getting sold like candy, and generally in my opinion this whole unbalanced powercrept meta is what keeping the game's monetary system alive. See, what happening is that more and more players herded into the hightiers: with 5x multipliers, blueprints, etc everyone can reach tier 10 in about 3-500 battles, while back in the old days you had to spend the same amount battles only in the T9 vehicle itself to research the T10. Now those players will meet with that absolute disgusting monstrosity we know as hightier meta. Playing tier 10 is expensive in general. Than you have to spend credits, a LOT credits to buy premium ammo and consumables, so you can be competitive. And thats it. The whole hightier meta (from T8 to T10) is about to make you burn as much credits as you can, so you buying the new premiums and the premium days. This is what this game slowly became starting since 2016-17-18 to this day. A freakin' money sink. Everything, every new addon, event, etc is subordinated to this purpose. I spend literally a decade playing with this game, and I really really feel sorry seeing what this otherwise one-of-a-kind masterpiece become. I miss the old days. Truly.

Touched a lot of bases and forgot the cheapest, dirtiest mechanic in the game: charging cash to demount a piece of equipment. THAT shouldn't ever be in the game, no matter what's the excuse.

This game was never about fast paced twitch shooting, its slow pre-ww2 tanks, then ww2 tanks that are still slow, and now you throw in EBRs that are like racing cars, the entire audience that they build up, are older games not kids into fast shooters and they throw something like EBRs that have such a high influence on battles zooming around the battle spotting everyone. Ridiculous whoever thought it was a good idea.

After many years of playing WOT I have had enough. They have ruined it with the greed and pay to win fiasco. This latest round of nonsense has killed the game so its for me it is Game Over.

I agree and stopped playing this game after 8 years. Sadly WarGaming will not change anything and will milk as long as they can. They don't care about retention, every player that leaves will be replaced by someone else who will be enticed to put in some money. What I am saying is that the goals of the players/community and WarGaming is not the same.

To be honest, i've basically done with the game, sometimes in a 3 players platoon i play 4 or 5 games, but usually even less, like 1 or 2 because this is simply not enjoyable anymore. I have the Chief and the 279e and even the t10 EBR, but even with those its just a waste of time. Constant arty spam, 4 ebrs, not balanced maps with not balanced mm. No chance to grind t7 and t8 effectivly, because of the constant +2. But at least we have brand new t8 prems in every month, rebalances on older t8 prems so people will buy them and an everyday action on t8 prems. The only mode i like is Frontline. Yeah it is boring after some times, but it has some positive sides with credit and xp. Also you can grind tanks more or less. Probably WG gonna ruin that mode aswell but hey, at least we have steel hunt with literelly zero use. So for me it seems like WG haven't planned this game to last this long. They have no idea how to make enjoyable content or have any idea to at least preserve the enjoyable content that is coming from another programmer, like Frontline. They have no idea how to continue this, thats why the spam of styles, paintings, black tanks, wheeled shit and the basic balance issues so they can force this to go even without ideas.

What if the ferraris can't repair the wheels while driving? This wouldn't take away the ability why they are other than a tracked light, but i think it would be a significant change.

In addition to all this: 1: Poor hit box modelling, we have all been there, aiming right on the edge of a cliff, the sight is completely free form the cliff, yet when you fire it still hits the cliff somehow... 2: Rocks feel more like ice than rocks, no grip and your tank just slides around like a 3 year old's first time on the rink... 3: Physics for EBR, if a tank does a 180, going at 90 km/h, like it does in WoT, the crew will be turned in to mince. 4: +-25% is trash, at most it should be 15%. This kills it for e-sports and just makes the game too unpredictable. 5: Poor interface, I am still trying to figure out if there is a way to see if you can install all modules/equipment on stock tracks or not, without unlocking them first. In other words, should I grind that gun first or the tracks? There maybe a way but after 35k battles I have not yet figured it out and it is so damn easy to make it more intuitive.. 6: You get those epic medals like 30k base capture points but that it is.. no reward for it other than that medal itself... Rewards are very minimal in this game, considering some of us are paying freaking 90 Euros for a prem tank.. 7: Too much spam like unneeded decals, stupid camouflage, presented as some sort of super prize... no one needs that shit 8: The biggest one for me, is that the game is not developing anywhere near fast enough, in fact you might argue it is regressing.. No progress, hardly any changes to game play, and cannot fix bugs that were present when I started playing... in 2011 like the cliff hit boxes. The game just feels too 2014 with outdated physics, graphics and destruction. The penetration holes on tanks are ridiculous, we all had those one meter smudges that don't even follow the contour of the tank. Lazy.

It's been too long that we've had a "love/hate" relationship with this game. We need wargaming to make this a game we can love again.

I just uninstalled the game. Played for almost 8 years, spent thousand of euros in it during this period, but the game has become worse and worse untill it became unenjoyable. I haven't spent a dime on this game in years. I stopped playing almost a year ago after playing for 4 years.

I was just playing the game yesterday when I realized that I don't have fun anymore. When I just started out about two years ago I thought that my frustration and bad performance were due to my own poor skill. Now, being a "green" player with 54 win ratio, I am more inclined to think that the game is just badly balanced. Every single situation you described happens to me regularly in almost every game session. I don't want to spend my time on this anymore. Life is too short.

Really hope Skill keeps this attitude up, nice to hear someone that can affect the opinions of "the masses" towards getting WG to actually try to fix/work on the game.

I played the game for about 7 years, but I got fed up with it last December. Let's hope WG takes notice and fixes some issues. Then maybe I'll return. You (and other streamers/youtubers) mentioned these issues many times in the past and nothing changed. Since this game doesn't have too much competition and people are still paying money, I don't see things improving in the near future unless WG's income drops significantly. Good job Skill.

I think the best way to balance EBR's in matchmaking isn't to reduce the number in games, but give them the same hit points as say: artillery. They're not proper tanks, so why should they have the same hit points as tier 10 light tanks? So if EBR's got the same number of HP as artillery, this would make them more balanced and easier to counter.

Agree with light tank and arty limits, 3 & 2 + no more than one wheelie in any game, and preferably none in my games 😂. I would happily wait 90 seconds to get in to a game that might last more than five minutes.

Hilarious how WG balance shell penetration and damage perfectly in Steel Hunter with sacrificing damage for extra penetration, but can't balance it in random battles. All of the points you make here skill are why I have been playing this game since 2011, but only have 12k battles. I can't stand playing this game for more than 2 months straight without a 6 month to a year break in between.

Very good summary of the current problems with this game. I'm only playing for almost 2 years and even I see the aggravation. If I play 20 battles I'm happy if one off those is a exiting one with that goes 3-1 or so at the end instead of the multiple 15-3 or 3-15 games. 30s to 1 min after the countdown you can mostly already see the outcoming off the battle. I really hope they start listening to the players and do something about it and make it a great game again.

the proposed gold ammo changes makes sense as long as it's HEAT or APCR. Heat fires a jet of molten metal to get through more armour, and APCR is a smaller faster shell for more pen. If the gold ammo is standard rounds with APCR as regular it makes sense for more damage and less pen.

One more thing is though on my mind so I don't repeat myself about things what you and others mentioned however I haven't seen this what I want to post yet. As in WT for example, you can take tank from tech tree or premium shop for test ride. Its for free, you are on universal map with different targets. Different types of the tanks, different tiers, some stationary some on the move but don't attack you. You can test drive the vehicle where you can explore its pros and cons, you dont pay for repairs or shells. You can see how the gun works, spotting, moving and so on. This would be great feature for players to enter (alone) to the test drive map to take any tank you want, even not researched, to see if its worth it to grind or purchase. Please along armor analysis of the tanks, this should be implemented to the game so you see how tank works against different armors, types of tanks, how gun works on distance also on moving targets in patterns. Please push this idea through I guess its super worthy for everyone. Thanks, Yossarian_SVK

About arty missions I totally agree. I am not an arty player, but because we are pretty much forced to do arty missions in order to progress in the game I had to spend my time grinding for multiple arties since different nations require them to be done and then after I will be done with them, they will be gathering dust in my garage because I don't play arty...

Another shitty hidden stat is RNG, +/- 25% This is BS. I can agree on some RNG but not 25% 10-15 should do the magic.

I think people need to finally understand that WG knows all of that and they don't care. Frustration and the negation of skill was always part of the game design. You increase frustration by having randomized MM and RNG. You increase frustration by creating stock grinds and giving an advantage to people able to afford shooting gold. Then you offer shortcuts in exchange for money. This was the business model since the start. Right now you guys seem pretty frustrated.

I think the landslide battles hapen because of hulldown tanks and autoloaders. Once one side of the map falls and tanks start getting shot by high burst damage the rest of the team just melts away before they have time to react or ability to do so because of map design. If the gold ammo did more damage with same or less pen no one would be complaining. The problem of gold ammo is that it makes slow heavy armor tanks just slow exp and credit milk cows. The armor is currently useles if anyone can just press 2 and auto pen you with no aiming.

Thank you for this video. I wouldn't have as much of an issue with the unbalanced maps IF WG gave a major bonus to credits and xp for overcoming those odds with a win. The major problem is the wheeled vehicles and horrendous match making. I used to love this game, mostly back when each nation had its own niche, but I haven't played this game for over 2 years. The other thing is with those missions. I would have gone about it a very different way by creating a few series of missions per tank line with reward tanks at the end of each series with a progressive difficulty level for each successive series. Like a T6 medium tank for completing the first series of medium tank missions. I never really played TD's or arty when I did play so the missions were never a goal for me because I only like playing medium and heavies and can tolerate and even enjoy light tanks when my team actually shoots the stuff I'm lighting up. To be honest the entire game needs a massive overhaul that will reward the various tank types for doing the particular job they were designed for. Example being that a light tank should get way more xp and credits for the spotting damage they provide than they do for the damage they do directly. Going into a battle and watching a light tank sitting at the back sniping is garbage and almost always results in a loss. In my experience people serve their own interests over a team's interests and this is a team play game. You can't force people to change, but you can convince them to change with personal rewards for doing the right things.

- 3 arties makes the game unplayable. Only counter-play to arty: Never get spotted. - Too much mobility. Mobility is the great enabler for tanks in today's meta, and more so the great enabler of turbo games. - Too much view range. You cannot really move much around the maps anymore without getting spotted. Just go with the blob instead, blobbing also help you win/lose quicker. - Too small maps. Inflating mobility and view range is effectively shrinking the already too small maps even further. - EBRs annihilates all other light tank gameplay for both allied and enemy light tanks that aren't EBRs. - Most technical innovation in the past few years come from WG copying 3rd party modifications into the game. The only innovation WG does themselves, comes from their marketing department. I consider all these "rebalances" just marketing BS too.

World of warships has the armor layout under survivability in the ship description. They can easily do that so people know where the armor is strongest and weakest

The difference between the highs and lows in this game are so insane (without free xp I probably would have quite a long time ago). Like Play a slow tier 6 heavy/med with 75% crew and averages 3-4 shots before death is brutal vs tier 10 heavy/med with maxed everything where it feels amazing and is super fun.

Ebr should only be able to repair tires when they stop moving.

Wargaming could make so much more money if they would actually listen to player feedback and criticism, it's not even funny. With a game with this much potential, it's crazy how Wargaming is shooting their own legs by not looking in the future. I think it's safe to say, if the game would fix its greatest flaws (MM, unbalanced tanks for example), they playerbase would already rise a lot. Because many veterans would come back, if the problems were solved they left the game for, and new players would just have a lot better time getting into the game.

There are days I wonder if anyone on the WG balancing staff has ever installed World of tanks, let alone completed the tutorial.

Another thing that is never mentioned is stock tanks, the grind for modules is such an outdated thing and turns off so many players, i have had 5 friends play the game they got to tier 8 mostly some got to one tier 10 and they all ended up quitting mostly due to the grind experience on stock tanks when there are full teams of OP premium tanks. In fact most of the monetary aspects of this game are highly negative when it comes to player base, op premium tanks, premium time, premium ammo (which is just flat out better), stock tanks which u need free xp for, cosmetics ,battle pass ,op modules and many other monetary aspects, some of these are perfectly fine in my opinion: premium, cosmetics, battlepass and balanced premium tanks is perfectly fine but the rest is stretching it nowadays and turns off many, i also have the cw tanks and stuff and imo they are also something that doesnt really exist in games nowadays because giving better players better things isnt really a popular model, most games give collectibles or cosmetics and i do think that would be overall better for the games health (ofc i personally love to have these op tanks but i do see how it can turn off ppl and make battles shorter)

About every company in the gaming is the same atm. It is a trend and there is basically no regulation. The in-game currency (gold) is basically how company/companies get a jail-free-card from courts.

I cant tell you how many times I hit an EBR in the back with high caliber TD-s and almost always does 0 damage.

Agree 169% I play game for 8 years, used to buy premium account, but stopped after ebr got introduced to the game. Close wallet boys and girls.

I'm very close to just quitting after playing since beta. I just can't take it any more. I've been at 58-60% solo WR for 30,000 battles but the last few months I can't even hit 35-40% on a good day. The NA server is so terribly unplayable, 3-4 minutes to get a battle that lasts 3 minutes. The biggest problem I can see is they have chased away all of the average normal players with the bullshit MM and weird RNG that seems like its on steroids compared to a few years ago. The 47-51% range is almost entirely absent so there is no stability. They keep adding features so we have more and more "turbo battles" where new players can't learn anything, and now its very possible for someone to be at tier 10 in 300-500 battles with all of the boosters and stuff. You look at the teams and high tiers are infested with people under 1k games with 30% win rates that cant figure out if what they did was right or wrong because everything happened so fast. WG doesn't care much, they admitted in their stream the other day battles are down from an average of almost 8 minutes to under 5 minutes. EDIT: as far as EBR, to me it shouldn't be a clown car light tank. The purpose of those vehicles in real life is to bring a big gun on a mobile package for city warfare. It should be treated like the Stryker in AW, basically a paper TD with decent mobility.

Over the past 18 months, I pulled back from playing higher tiers. This coincided with the advent of wheeled scum. I was playing mostly tiers 4-5-6. Six months ago, I moved to Spain and asked for my account to be transferred to Europe. I was told no, it would never happen. Since then, I've tapered off and haven't play now for 2 months. In the past I averaged $4-500 spent each year. That is now done. My account is gathering dust and my premium time is counting down to zero. Skill and Claus Kellerman are my last links to this game. I watch them because they are entertaining. Not necessarily because of what they are playing.

to 21:00 they need to rebalance the maps but i don't want maps that are symmetrical. You can have maps where one spawn is stronger on one side but the other spawn needs to be stronger on other side or middle and equal on last side.

I think there's so much content in the game when it comes to tanks, mechanics, and how they interact with eachother, that there's so much more to either get wrong or use as a way to exploit players

One of the issues is meta shifted by statpadders, statshaming and popularity of WN8. Nothing drops your stats as quick trip to the garage so the opening meta shifted from "lets go and take most important place on the map" to "lets go and snipe at people trying to take most important place on the map". Getting spotted means you are the only one spotted so everyone snipes you and all arties shit on you

@33:00 I recall when SirFoch did this exact thing and Wargaming's response was to try and ban him and false copyright strike his channel. In the end, the community had his back and Wargaming just removed him from CC.

Thanks for this video, it saved me from coming back to play the Holiday Ops and buying boxes... their marketing is so shady, and how they "lie" about their tanks to sell them better. For example in War Thunder you can even test drive any tank you don't have yet including premium vehicles. Huge difference! I don't say Gaijin would be less greedy, but at least they seem to put more work into their game for sure.

If I remember correctly patch 9.17 was when WG added t10 light tanks and changed arties and matchmaking. I and my friend always said it was when the game went only downhills. Edit. It was patch 9.18, they should revert the game to patch 9.17.

Stopped playing Tanks over 2 years ago. Got fed up with the Premium power creep, gold ammo and especially arty. I uninstalled WoWs 6 months ago. More power creep and carriers. WG fundamentally do not listen to player feedback. It's all about getting new players and selling them winning premiums.

Use to play this game every day since it started. Now I can't take the MM. Lucky if I play once a week.

When Wargaming was only a small studio and they were working on Order of War, we had a lot of conversations and he was really open to community suggestions and ideas. We even played test games to exactly find where issues are and so on. Maybe he will remember me as "Oberst XMessor" :-)

You are right and i will accept your advice, i spended a lot of money so far for this game but meanwhile game getting even worse, i will stop to spend money till they dont fix stuff...

I'm surprised how no one noticed that in WoT blitz there's already a mechanic where you have less damage, but better penetration than standard rounds.

I really hope that some day WG will actually make the changes that the game needs. With 1.13 coming I don’t think I want to play WoT anymore, it’s clear that WG would rather try and pull the wool over everyone’s eyes or make it look like they’re listening when they really could care less. I started way back in 2012 as well and the game really feels at an all time low. I will continue to enjoy the content that you put out though and I hope you can keep having fun in WoT. For me though I believe that I no longer want to dedicate my time to this abusive relationship.

*New Players* -- If you must have credit grinders, I'd only consider these 3 if I was starting over. Just train crews in their own vehicles. SU-122-44 (~20 USD @ 30% off; old static camo after firing value), Rudy (12 USD on sale), and Revalorise (~22 USD @ 30% off; great standard APCR, low cost per round: dmg ratio).

I believe this is how to fix war gaming. 1. Get rid of hit points and yes copy war thunder where you have to hit the engine/ammo or the crew to “kill” a tank. 2. Limited premium ammo. 10% to no more than 20% of all ammo can be premium. Period. 3. One arty per map. 4. You could reduce the number of lights but instead let’s activate the machine guns. The majority of heavy and medium tanks have machine guns which will easily shred a light tank and have the speed to keep up with them. 5. Increase the number of maps several times over. Also include several massive maps like front lines. 6. Not sure how to include this one as if it exists it is the most important. And I am not certain that everyone is affected by this especially contributors. And I do not believe contributors are aware of this. But Games like Warzone have a way of inhibiting certain players at certain times or increasing certain players accuracy. The RNG in tanks is horribly out of balance. It’s to the point I feel the game increases your accuracy if you start doing too poorly in your win rate and decreases it if you do too well. I know there are bad players out there who may feel this way but I also know there are a lot of good players as well. At under 50 feet with a fully closed ret and you hit the ground because one dot slightly touches the ground? In a tank that is supposed to be somewhat accurate with a fully trained crew like the Lowe. It shoots a tank under 50 feet away and about one in every nine or 10 shots hits the dirt? No.

A few months ago "Flamu" was equally forthright about WarGaming's shortcomings in World of Warships, so they ended his being a CC (community contributor). I applaud Skill for this video and WarGaming should be thinking hard about how they can fix existing problems - but I fear that they will think that just "firing" Skill will fix things. 18:20 i thought the point of "special" rounds was to use them when needed... if you limit the number of "special" shells a tank can carry for random battles relative to the tier there would lie a solution... t10 2.5k-3k dmg potential with gold t9 2k-2.5k dmg pot. w. gold t8 1.5k-2k. dmg pot. w. gold etc etc etc

I've mostly walked away from WoT. -/+2, arty,, p2w, poor communication. I don't need to put time or money towards a game that is actively becoming a misery to play. Edit: And at this point WG has no intrest in listening to the commity or CCs

Stopped playing a while ago. Then I saw a video about this "catch postcard for good deals". And then it turned out most of the time, it wasn't deal. The value was the same. Or sometimes, even worse. I still don't understand how that went under the radar. In a lot of countries, false advertisement like that is punishable. Baffles my mind.

Thank you Skill and DezGamez for your video. I fully agree with all you said and those are mostly reasons I have stopped playing WoT a few months ago. I would like to also add that your YT content is already really good and helpful. I hope one day I will be as successful with my YT channel as you are. Remember WAY BACK when each type tank had a function in the game. Heavy tanks had heavy tank armor and heavy tank guns for doing heavy tank thinks. Light tanks were SCOUTS. Light tank guns, light tank speed and light tank view range for SCOUTING. TDs mostly had TD guns and YUCK armor for hiding and sniping. Mediums were for those interested in dynamic game-play. Why did WOT get away from that model ??
