When we find ourselves in unexpected situations, it's hard to know what to do right off the bat. Do you think you can get yourself out of any challenge possible, no matter how strange it might be? If so, you must have better logic and critical thinking than 98 % of people.
A guy named Charles is quite an extraordinary individual. He’s overcome tons of obstacles and pulled through a lot of difficult situations throughout his life. Let’s see if you have the same sharp wits as our friend Charlie here.

SUMMARY
-Correct the flawed equation without changing the numbers or their position in the equation.
-Do some math and figure out how many days it took Charles to climb out of the well.
-Guess how Charles managed to get the ping pong ball out of the pipe.
-Figure out how Irene managed to poison her husband when she ate the same exact apple and didn't take any sort of antidote beforehand.
-Use your logic to find out which of the coworkers tried to kill Charles.
-Help the police to name and arrest the right person who killed Charles.

Not all wells are visible today. Wells built in the 1800s were often just covered up when they dried up. Over the years dirt and grass built up a layer above them but the covers also deteriorate. Then someone steps on them and they cave in. That’s why they need to be completely filled in, not just covered up

This riddle's answer is wrong. Once Charles reaches 90 feet, he can climb out the next day, not at 94 feet.

Solution to riddle #1 1:19 Change the Equal Symbol (=) to Not Equal Symbol (≠) They never told us anything about changing Symbols Way easier than flipping the chalkboard upsidedown

With riddle #2 (the well), the answer should be 23 days. On the 23rd day, he is 92 feet up. He then climbs up 10 feet and then he’s out (with 2 feet to spare) without having to slip down the 6 feet.

Even if you're assuming that he survives, it's still wrong. I mean, they had the right idea, but they didn't quite get it right. It would only take 23 days. On the morning of the 23rd day, he'd be at 92 feet. Add 10 feet, and he's up. No need to wait another day

If Charles was so smart why didn't he just write 'nicola'? I'm presuming that the killer wasn't still present when the message was created because if I were the killer I wouldn't allow Charles to leave any sort of clue, no matter how cryptic.

The killer would have been too distracted to notice a few numbers on paper, but detectives search every inch of everything... Someone was murdered next door to my grandmother the police were so sure of who it was that they even searched inside the car engine for the weapon, but anyway the murderer turned out to be not him, it was a crazy case. Anyway in this, the first person to find out the riddle would obviously be one of the investigators, but if he wrote 'Nichola' the killer would have noticed.

Riddle 2 Explanation to answer is wrong. it should be 23 days at 92 and before end of 24 day, he would be out. Probably saved 3.2 hours that day, with whole 8 nights left. 😀

In riddle 2, the answer seems correct, but the explanation is wrong. On the morning of 23th day, he wasn't 96 feet up, he was 92 feet up. At the morning of 2th he was 4 feet up, on 3rd 8 feet, up, so 4 feet times x-day minus 1. 24 days - 1 = 23, 23x4 = 92. He doesn't NEED to be 4 feet away because he climbs 10 feet a day, so he just needs to be at least 90 feet up in the morning to get out. He was on 98 by the evening of 23rd, and climbed out on 24th from 92 instead of 96 ft. In your example, not only did you not account for the fact that in the last day he won't lose 6 ft because he will be out already, but also calculated it wrong, multiplying 4 by 24, and then stating that he would be 96 up by the morning while in reality he'd be there AFTER the 24th day, including the night afterwards.

Charles was killed on Tuesday, right? Because the guy only delivered the Tuesday paper. I'm assuming that first, the milk delivery guy gave him the milk, then he got killed, then the milk delivery guy was completely oblivious to the dead body in front of him and kept putting milk on his table.

If you poison only one side of the knife, the apple is still very likely going to be contaminated on both halves. Try doing that with a bit of peanut butter or food dye on one side of the knife and see if it all only sticks to one half.

riddle number 2. the answer should be 23 days instead of 24. After 22 days of climbing 10 ft and slipping back down 6 ft, on the morning of the 23rd day he would have climbed 92 ft of the 100 ft well and therefore just climb the rest of the 8 ft during the day since he just slips back down during rest at night.

22 x 4 is 88 so day 23 he climbs to 98 but at night slips back to 92.. on day 24 he climbs 10 and gets out so its day 24

The 2nd riddle is absolutely incorrect. Charles only needs 23 days. When the answer says "At the morning of the 24th day, he is 96 feet high" that would mean that before the night he was 6 feet higher so at 102 feet and already out x)

They said the number wrong, if he goes up ten and down six he goes up 4 every day. On day 23 he is actually 92 feet up, and he climbs the extra 8 feet and escapes. So it is 24 days, they just said the wrong numbers. I remember this from school :)

It will be 23 days as 10 ft he rise up first so 100-10 =90. the net rise is 4 ft.. thus 90/4 gives around 22 . On the 23rd day he would be able to cross the well

@@RippedCentral My guy if you write 8+8=16 on a piece of paper and you flip the piece of paper the position of the equation doesn't change but the position of the paper does. If you erase a number and put it somewhere else you're changing the position of the number. But whatever you say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You both are right, depending on how you see it. If you talk about the numbers as physical objects on the board, the position was not changed. If you talk about the numbers as visually fixed on your screen/in front of your eyes , but not existing physically, then the positions obviously changed.

I'm an ordinary thinker....so I guess in riddle no.1 just take a peice of chalk and cut the equals sign turning it into the not equals sign while keeping in mind I didn't change the numbers or their position....thus saving time.🙃

if Charles was actually clever he would have divorced his wife after he found out she was trying to poison him and he would have fired his co-workers since he knew about their plan. And he would not have accidentally fallen into the well. And why flip the board if he could have added line through the equals sign to make it an inequality sign. If I were Charles and Irene tried to give me an apple: I would tell her to cut the apple into fourths and split it with me. 2 pieces for me and 2 pieces for her. If she poisoned one side of the knife, the poison would end up on 3 of the pieces, no matter how you cut it. Also, cutting an apple into fourths means you have the annoying core in each piece, so you need to take extra time to cut out each piece, further poisoning EACH piece of the apple. This would make it impossible for Irene to poison Charles by only poisoning one side of the knife WITHOUT poisoning herself in the process. She'd have to find a different solution. (I don't think there would be any other solution to be perfectly honest)

But changing the equation by flipping the board also shifts the position of the numbers in the equation. If you don't consider it changing the position because they're in the same place relative to their initial position on the board, you can't also claim that you've solved the equation because 91 written upside down is still 91. 🤔

I don't know if anyone else caught this (scrolled for a bit, but didn't see anything about it), but on the one where Charles falls down the well, it should be 23 days, not 24. It's the same logic, but he'd be at 92 feet and still able to climb out the remaining 8 feet in his 10 feet/day number.

actually it is the 24th day, but they got the height wrong. at the beginning of day 2, he was at 4 feet, beginning of day 3, 8 feet, etc;... you have the formula (n° of day - 1) * 4 = height at the start of the day. therefore, at the beginning of day 24, he was at 23*4 = 92 feet high.

But another consideration is if day 1 is when he fell in and started climbing out, then you have an 'off-by-one' sort of calculation and he would be at 92 feet up on the morning of the 24th day and be free by the end of the 24th day.
