Any advice for finding Jam partners?

Online, unless it's one of your friends, it's not so hard to find a partner, but hard to find a reliable one. Just go on a gamedev forum like tigsource, or a facebook group and you'll find plenty. It's best if you meet up with local developers in your city, if possible, though.

Is it just me, or is it pissing anyone else off, with this guy speaking English fluently, and still can't say "dare"?!

Probably just you - some people get bogged down by random words. Go watch more recent videos if you're interested - I made a lot of progress since then!

It's latin, so yes, it's more like da-ray. Ludum is related to the idea of game, play (that's where ludology, the study of games, comes from), and dare means to give.

He is pronouncing it correctly. Ludum Dare is not pronounced with the english pronunciation of "dare".
