Here is an in-depth video about the very impressive stabilisation on the Lumix GH6. This camera has 7.5 stops of stabilisation -- no matter which lens you use! -- and it's really effective for faking those gimbal shots in a pinch.

Amazing Results, just don't drop the camera on the boom movements! I think if you are filming at 5.7K and outputting at 4K you can use the GH6 as a gimbal and fix any unwanted wobbles in post (if you have to crop in a smidge to do it just shoot a bit wider) and still have a true 4K image to output. There are some limitations but as you stated in your video, your not carrying a gimbal and all the extra weight that intails.

I just love your humour through this, classic stuff. Really great tips for slider like movement, and I can tell you after having gone from a GH5 to an a7s III that auto focus isn't everything. With a Dual I.S.2 lens, the GH5 just floats by comparison, I can't even get my head around what using IBIS with 7.5 stops is like. P.S - Another 💩👖🥷🚶 technique I've had a good amount of success with for low to the ground dolly/trucking shots is to loop the camera strap under the lens and then let it all dangle off one finger at the apex of the strap so it is cradling the camera. As long as you are alow and constant with your movement it works really well, can even incorporate a bit of a pan into your shot as you get better as the strap dampens out the handheld jitters.

@@MicroFourNerds Well done, you know how to move well with the camera. Do you not trust electronic stabilization, do you think it is superfluous? I noticed that you are already converting 60 or 120 fps to 30 fps on PC. But the same thing can be done by the camera during shooting. Do you think VFR is not a necessary function, the quality is worse?
@MicroFourNerds
@MicroFourNerds 2 жыл бұрын
@@lnuponom2678 I think electronic stabilisation can cause a bit of “jello” effect sometimes so I’d rather avoid it if I can. I don’t mind variable frame rate at all, though I love just shooting 60/120p in camera still leaves me with the ability to use it as a normal clip with audio, as well as a slower clip. Much more versatile. I was shooting a lot of the 180/240p HD VFR recently for some fire dancers and the quality is surprisingly brilliant! Very impressed

@MicroFourNerds
@MicroFourNerds 2 жыл бұрын
Do you have e-stabilisation on? That can make the warp worse so double check that’s off. Higher frame rates and a bit of slow mo are always more forgiving, even 30p conformed to 24p if you don’t need audio. 60p even better. The warp shouldn’t be too pronounced with the dual stabilisation in lens and camera, but any harsh movements can cause it. If you need 24p I’d say just concentrate on any sideways movement and try to keep it to a minimum.
