Doctor Snipes, thank you for making this video! Prioritizing and time management are a weakness of mine with ADHD, and I’ve been struggling and working hard on them my whole life. These videos are super helpful. Even the things that seem obvious, are sometimes just the little snippets I needed a reminder of. Thank you for the hard work you put in to make these videos!

We have grocery delivery services. Lots of them. I also recently started using a “farmer’s market” and instead of buying frozen dinners, this family owned business prepares all kinds of meals that are quite tasty. They offer jarred soups, butternut squash, lentil, cauliflower, broccoli and cheese, as well as pies, pasta and rice dishes.

This is all very good. Scheduling is the biggest challenge for me. Scheduling is also the most important. Without one, dibs on my time becomes a free for all. I end up saying yes to too many things. Currently I don’t have one. I have an agenda for appointments, work, grocery deliveries and family visits. Most agendas fall quite short as there is often not enough room to write all of this stuff down and keep in ONE place. No way to block off time for everything. I would have to place a few folded sheets of paper inside my agenda. I have still yet to find one thing that works. Although I write things on paper (preferred), I may have to consider doing a digital schedule for everything important.

I just learnt that re-heating rice is bad for possible if rare Botulism. And that the energy is the most in freshly cooked food.
@liveyouryoga
@liveyouryoga 2 жыл бұрын
There is a safe way and unsafe way to do it. I read up on it. You have to cook it to an internal temperature of 165 degrees. You should use shallow containers for storage and you need to reheat it also to 165. Make sure it's evenly heated. If reheated rice was unsafe, restaurants and markets etc would not be allowed to sell it.

@@Medietos 74 degrees Celsius. Yes you need to bring it to a boil 100 degrees. Internal temperature should be 74 degrees Celsius throughout. When reheating, same thing, piping hot throughout.

The farmers market I visit cook their rice perfectly. Not the least bit sticky. I have a rice cooker and still can't achieve this. It also depends on the kind of rice. Brown rice is more challenging.

do pay auto-pay bills before they are due, when your money arrives, so hat you don't ever risk what happened to me: I thought my bank made sure there was enough money for my rent at all times. but they DON*T! and 1 months (out of 13 years), my account lacked some $40, and the bank sent a letter which I didn't read, since I "knew" it was not important and could concentrate on surviving, seeking help, trying to get sleep. But it was important, they didn't let me jus pay what was missing but threw me out violently, despite having said theyd visit and make it up to me that a neighbour's dogs had been destroying my sleep and life for 12 years(!). Idk what happened between that and the eviction. I still can't grasp that it is real.

Sorry to hear about all that, sounds very unfair. Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.

Aren't there laws about sudden eviction? Your rent was a bit short that one time? Over here in Ontario there are channels a landlord must go through before he or she can evict anyone. In fact, it takes quite a bit more than what you described. What you described would be considered illegal eviction. It sounds really unfair for sure.

@@DocSnipes Thanks dear Dr, could you say just those 15 words of guidance, suggestions, order, correction, or how to let go of it all instead, please?
@KMF3

I don't believe that your landlord kicked you out at a moment's notice for missing $40 worth of rent. I don't know where you live but anywhere in the United States there are laws against that. In fact it's usually extremely hard to kick somebody out and it takes anywhere between 30 days to a year to actually get somebody out of a rental if they're not cooperative. I'm not suggesting that you ought not be cooperative. I'm just saying that your story doesn't ring entirely true and I think we're missing part of the story. That being said I don't think that auto-pay is ever a good thing for paying anything. Just stop relying on it.

i don't think it's helpful to punish yourself for not getting things done. if i don't reward myself for trying my best im just gonna spiral into depression even more. the classic "you didn't do everything you had to do, now you can't play/eat sweets etc" that parents use on us. triggered me tbh

After decades of de ception and abuse from dentists, health-care and so cial autor I TY , tiring m out and wasting my life-time and dwindling life-energy, I have dropped more and more down my exhaustion depression, been in 3d stage burnout for years, and they seem to hate me for having a survival instinct , for warning that they are harming me, and for telling my need and will (they aren't allowed to harm me), and got no-one to counsel with and orientate myself with the help of (they haven't followed the law) HAving Aspergesr makes i extra hard when ppl don't do what they say they'll do ad when declared rules /laws don't in reality apply . I have been "punished " gravely for "mistakes" they didn't let me know.and with 23 years of severe insomnia, it doesn't seem reasonable ofhe to expect perfect functioning in near-isolation with Aspergers and huge CPTSD. I have lost the will to eat, and throw up, and lost many teeth despite having had very good teeth. they eventually accepted my application for Personal Assistence, but never provided any decent, needed proper one, only other and too inadequate "help" that was no help at all but a burden. They were going to help me manage my everyday life in my own home and eventually get to sleep and eat regularly, dress and communicate with others.What saddens, angers and fears me is that they lied about me and ridiculed me unfairly in documents that are legally meant to be true.. Why do they do that? In order to justify abuse? Anyway, I have gone hardened, deadened, lost my compassion /empathy, cant really care about things like Ukraine, but being too Co-dependent wanting to help sick family, -while not having the motivation and energy anymore to take care of myself. It seems to be no use when they not only withhold me my rights and needs, but sabotage my own attempts at helping myself, and steal the very vase of physical life and safety. My home, rights, reputation and money. I fear I have become non-existent, I have forgotten where I wanted to go with this tale... Thank you for your good advice. very clear and sensible. Although it is for normal ppl in normal situations.

If you're not sleeping I can imagine that that is impacting how you are viewing everything in your life right now. However it seems to me that you have a bit of a victim mentality. As long as you keep looking at life that way you're going to continue to run into roadblocks and feel like you're banging your head against the wall. I do hope that you find some help and I do hope that you will take the advice that is given to you.
