Why is CHARISMA important? 🤔
Charismatic leaders captivate and inspire their teams by clearly communicating the organizational vision and goals in a dynamic way that fosters trust and confidence through authenticity, sincerity, and transparency.
One of the key tenets of Charismatic Communication is not about talking at all, rather it’s about deeply listening. Listening is not something we are taught in school or the workplace.
Here are 6 Tips to Upgrade Your Listening and therefore be more charismatic: 👇
1. Be present. 🧘 Watch your tendency to get distracted by your thoughts. Don’t drift off from conversations.
2. Learn to want to listen.👂 Work daily to cultivate the desire, interest, focus, and self-discipline to be a deep listener.
3. Allow for silence. 🤫 Pause if you’d like someone to share more, and leave space for everyone to share their thoughts.
4. Don’t assume. 🙅‍♂️ Drop all assumptions, even if you think you know where the conversation is heading, stay open to what is being said.
5. Be curious. 🧐 Be intentional about wanting to find something new from your conversation or get curious about how you can be surprised.
6. Stop making everything about you. 🚫 Instead of bringing up personal experiences, opinions, or ideas at every turn, stay committed and listen to the topic at hand. Just because you have had similar experiences does not mean it’s time to share your story.
