Same thing happened to me with an american taxi driver 🙄Just think it was a bit silly though because he obviously knew we were tourists (picked us up from the airport with obvious non-US accents and dropped us at a hotel) so could have just told us instead of shouting. The first restaurant we went to told us so politely and it was not even an issue after that

Good tips Christianne. When I went Interrailling around Europe back in 1985 with a couple of friends whenever we reached a new country we worked out a quick way to convert the local currency into £ sterling (I think one was about 2.85 = £1, another was 3.12 = £1, being mathematically minded we had to make it more complicated than 3:1). Regarding the rough itinerary, near the end of the holiday we couldn't work out how we were doing Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen in two days until about an hour later when we realised that the train we were planning to catch to Olso was leaving 15 minutes before we even arrived!! Nothing was pre-booked so that was all ok. You have an impressive number of stars but I suppose adding it there and then makes it so much easier than "I would like to go to that place that I saw in that film" but then not even remember the film.

I have recently been thinking about travel and would love to travel around Europe. But go by train and buses example go by euro tunnel to France, Paris, San Sebastian, Spain, Bilboa, Barcelona etc would love to end the trip in Rome. Yes this will need a lot of planning. I'm planning on saving $15,000 that will be able to pay for my holiday and part of my college tuition (University of Greenwich) There are banks (at least in the US) you can get a bank card (debt card) That should automatically make the conversion rate from USD for example to whatever currency you're attempting to make a purchase from.
