If you’re in a relatively warm climate like I am (Texas) don’t sleep on the Uniqlo chesterfield coat. It’s a top coat but it’s relatively thin so you don’t get heat exhaustion.

Great video! In my opinion, the coat isn’t long enough. The short coats generally undermine the idea of the winter coat itself. Also, instead of the regular Chesterfield coat, I’d go for balmacaan, since it’s more practical and warmer

I really appreciate the video. I generally wear casual clothes, but do work in the office and was looking for that recommendation for formal and casual wear in those short moments of sheer cold (relative to a Californian). It’s nice to know I don’t have to maintain an extensive wardrobe for heavy outer wear and this essentials list is perfect for someone like me.

Thanks for the great ideas, especially with regard to products that offer a better range of sizing. Finding stylish well fitting garments has become easier now, but shoes are still quite a challenge. For me wide sizes are hard to find. When it comes to watches, I find that the ones with a stainless steel case and bracelet can be uncomfortably heavy on my small wrist. But I found that titanium watches are very comfortable for daily wear at around 100 gm to 110 gm. Titanium watches are also hard to find, but I wouldn't wear any other kind of bracelet watch. Keep up the good work.

I prefer Baffin for winter boots. They were over $300 but worth it! I had them over a decade and haven’t worn out yet. I only have to change the liners every few years. I tried Sorrels before but found the make to narrow for my feet.

Not quite an essential, but I’d add warm house slippers to the list. I got a pair of Greys Outdoor Slipper Boots last winter, and they’re so warm and cozy I just wanted to wear them any time I wasn’t leaving the house.

Good point on the pea coat. I love and treasure mine, as it's so comfortable and as you say, it swings between casual and formal. I would say in recent years (at least here in Britain), it's become more popular as a casual option because of the success of the show Peaky Blinders. So for young men wanting the classic tough, street guy sort of look, a pea coat tends to be what they go for. By the way, your haircut in this is fantastic as is that grey suit - it fits impeccably!

For the first heavy outerwear did you buy the XLarge or XXLarge? In the video you said extra large XL but looking at the chart size XL is 5ft while XXL is 5.6 feet.

My only tip is for the boots. Don't use a spray. Get a good paste style conditioner, polish and waterproofer. Make at kit out of it.

long underwear is a mid layer the way i was brought up. I always wear undies first. this way you dont have to own 5 pair in order to wash them after each wear.

I haven’t tracked my diet in over a year but used to eat around 1900 cals per day. I lift 3x a week now and eat mostly vegetarian with occasional meat and protein shakes.
