She's kind of dumb for taking the king. It was check not checkmate. When you are checked your allowed to move your pieces, my king was once saved by the horse, but your right she's good for her age. The guy made a comeback. Well played

Taking the king in blitz chess is a common rule. May be in this tournamnet this rule was not to be applied.

I don't understand how. Wouldn't he just have to redo his move so that he gets out of check?
@cunucky4 жыл бұрын
@@icebear326 I think it depends on what house rules you want to play. I know a lot of people when they play bullet or blitz games that they allow to take the king to win. makes sense since time constraints will put you in exactly the position that this guy was in and it not her fault if he doesnt want to save his king XD. But yes I think regularly you would redo in standard games :) So in a way, he was teaching her but he could have said "opps! I was supposed to move my king! sorry!"

There was a story ben Feingold told about teaching kids chess. He showed them the basics and left them to play a few games. When he came back the kings where off the board. He asked what they were doing there . "Oh, we traded those ages ago."
@Brukernavnn4 жыл бұрын
@@PygmalionFaciebat Ernesto Inarkiev tried to hustle Carlsen in a similar incident at the world blitz championship in Riyadh. Inarkiev was in check but made an illegal move, checking Carlsen's king. Carlsen instinctively moved his king out of check, at which point Inarkiev called the arbiter and claimed a win, ignoring that he made an illegal move first. The arbiter actually sided with Inarkiev at first, but the decision was eventually changed to instead play from the last legal position, which Inarkiev refused because he was losing.
