It will last for about a year. It depends really on weather or damage caused by animals. But when it finally breaks down he has no problem building another one

when it rains, it might crumble and most videos about this was taken almost at the same period (aka dry season) in some other videos, it is said that some of them might delay their work due to the land slides because of the rain.

Actually, there are quite a few videos that show an aerial view of these types of sites,only days/weeks after videos are uploaded,where they will build a dozen different versions of these structures & pools in a relatively small area, then abandon them to do the next. The pools look especially nasty since they neither use chemicals or use method of airflow/ motion to keep them from very quickly becoming mosquito ridden green sludge ( days),lol

Well, he knows his own environment, but I would have wanted some chlorine tablets to toss in that water to kill any bacteria and parasites myself. That water looked too stagnant from where he got it. Amazing video though... very ingenious and persistent. He certainly puts us Americans to shame.

What you do is amazing and I love watching it, but I never quite understand the swimming pool idea. How in the world are you gonna keep the water in it even remotely clean? Or in the ones where you route water in through pipes, prevent it from overfilling?

I have to ask: how long did it took for algae and mosquitoes to colonize the swimming pool? I cant leave a bucket full of water for a week outside before it happens. Also, seems more like a dry tropical forest than the rain tropical forest. So what does happen during the rainy season?

Robert Schmucker You understand this guy left America to legit live in South America like this, in the wild. The most he can treat the pool with is salt, and that isn’t abundant. And for MsLuath up there, you’d be surprised how fast algae can grow. Take an inground Pool, do not treat it, watch how fast it grows when people periodically swim in it. Now multiply it by two since that isn’t the most sanitary pool and it has lots of exposure to the wild, bacterium are in the rivers he uses, not the most harmful bacteria, fine to swim in; and it’s safe to drink once he boils it. The bacteria and microorganisms in the pool work very fast when your out there.

He's in the middle of the wilderness of South America. I doubt that there are any hotels for miles and driving hours to one wouldn't be worth it since he could have used that time to record. He most likely uses a tent to rest and if there is a highway nearby, the nearest gas station to charge his laptop, transfer the video over to it, editing it and uploading i And if not, his house could also simply be nearby and he'd only have to drive for a couple of hours.
