When I used to have a microwave, I would take a dishrag, wet it profusely and put vinaigre on it and put that in the microwave for 30 seconds. You evidently need to wait until you can handle the dishrag and then use it to clean out the microwave. This way I had no extra bowls to handle or making sure I don't spill boiling water on myself, but if the dishrag had any microbes on it, they had been microwaved out of existence prior to cleaning the microwave. :-) Love your channel !! Soo relaxing.

I was struck by how often you said, “if everything has a home, it only takes a minute”. The core issue for many cluttered homes is the overwhelming task of creating infrastructure, an organized place for everything. I’m constantly stunned at how poorly homes are designed. Fixing this is one weekend at a time, and only then do one minute at a time tasks become meaningful. 🤓 Love the video. Thank you!!

It makes me smile that my grandparents (born at the end of the 19th century in France) and my parents already implemented these principles, without the help of youtube :) I learned from them, and am so grateful to them! Also, my mum always advised us not to leave a room empty-handed, if anything in it needed to be taken to another room. And what needed to leave our home was always placed by the main door. Now I'm a grandmother, and my children and grandchildren are continuing the tradition. It doesn't mean our homes are perfect, but it is true that helps so much in keeping a home (or workplace) tidy, relaxing and pleasant!

I tend to do small things. Being truthful I don’t even notice I’m doing them now. They’re so ingrained into me I automatically do them. No thought process involved anymore 😂. I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve gone to sort washing and I’ve already done it earlier. Same with the dishwasher.😅. It’s a great way to keep on top of the house.😊 I also empty the dishwasher before bed. That way as the day goes on the next day I can just put dishes in as they accumulate. The kitchen always looks tidy then.😊. These are great tips. Thank you.

Hi Benita! Hello from Tennessee. I just had some huge dental surgery today ( had worse 7 months ago.) Your videos have helped me tremendously. I have finally gotten my house in good order and feel like I have some control over my life. My Nana was very much a minimalist and kept her home simple and in order. As kids, we 3 granddaughters made fun about it but that stopped years ago as we saw the value in how and what she did. Your habits are so similar that your videos just warm my heart. Plus they are very calming and your voice runs my anxiety out of me. I just wanted to say thank you. I'm sure you have heard similar before but it was important tonight to tell you here. Your videos brighten my days. Thanks again!!

I have to clean up and reset my home before I go to bed. I love waking up to a tidy home. It really starts the day out on a positive note. I also keep my home company ready. I am a widowed Mom of 2 and there is no excuse not to keep your communal areas clean and neat. When I know someone is coming over, I just make sure the hallway bathroom is ready, which takes about a minute. A quick wipe down, and fresh towels is all it takes. Airing out our home every day is a must. I have a question for you Benita.... with the separation of your floor boards, are you concerned that, eventually, dust and dirt will fill them up? Another lovely, calming, helpful video as always, thank you Benita ! Have a lovely day ! 😀❄☃💗

My mother used to say, if you’re leaving a room, glance around and see if anything needs taking elsewhere on your way out. Like a coffee cup or an envelope from a document. Put the cup in the sink, or dishwasher, put the envelope in the recycling if appropriate and the contents somewhere secure if appropriate and deal with it with the priority it is due. Never go empty handed. When I came in from school, my uniform had to be taken off and play clothes put on, folding the uniform for next day. We didn’t use washing machine every day.

I started to keep the house really organised when I was selling my last home in order to keep it always ready for viewings. I have now adopted the same routine in my new home. I always multi tusk now when waiting for the kettle to boil or something to cook, I clean or declutter a drawer in the kitchen or wipe down doors or plug sockets. Bathroom is always cleaned after use. All these things only take a few minutes and are very easy to achieve, making the deep clean every so often much less hard work. Selling my home totally changed how I approach housework, I actually enjoy cleaning and tidying now. You do many of the things I do!

Happy New Year. Thank you for your many videos. Again, you have provided a useful tip to help me keep my small living space clean and organized. One of the first tips you offered years ago was to re-think the "why" of using kitchen drawers. I was surprised I was using kitchen drawers the same as my mother! Today you showed the use of bags on hooks for holding disposables. Eureka! I have the same-sized trash bins that I used in my house, and now I have a small apartment. One hanging bag for trash and 1 bag for recycling will save so much space and encourage me to remove trash every 2 days instead of weekly. All the best for you in this new year, Benita.

Thanks for the tips. Of course, starting with a decluttered home is the key! Since I became much more minimal, I see how much faster it is to clean and tidy. Your tips are super applicable when there are only three things to move on the mantle. Tidying the bathroom used to be such a chore, when I had to move half a drug store off the counter to clean it. Minimalism has so many benefits. Thank you for these regular training sessions ❤️

Dear Benita! I felt so confident while watching your great video, as I do similar things on my daily routine…. It helps so much and when you are used to it, it takes almost no effort! Wiping the tub with the face gloth, I also do that every day…. Or never go up or down the steps empty handed!😉the tip to easily declutter the closet I will introduce in my routine, I like that a lot! Thank you so much! Lots of love from Iris from southwest Germany where it is also getting very cold🥶but much better than all this bloody rain we had for weeks😏see you!👋👋

First off, happy new year. I was glad to see that you have aquired a few more books, especially harry potter- loved those. I remember a video from a couplé of years ago in which you ’edited’ your collection down to 11. I love books; i have hundreds. Probably the first things i would save if my house caught faire, after my cats and dog of course. Just a nosey question - where is that bookcase in your flat? I was pleased to note that every one of your tips are already in my repertoire. Great minds etc. All the best.
