That’s how it is in Jersey now, it started in 2017. That year I got arrested right after new years after being on the run for 8 months. I got “released” for the new charges (white collar) but I had a VOP so I was gonna sit anyway. It was a CRAZY time. They were releasing everybody, even some with violent crimes lol.

I mean, honestly: It's not that hard to disappear. I absconded on 8 years of supervised probation for 4 years. Moved 1400 miles away, and didn't tell anyone. The only person I knew in the state I went to was the girl I had met on Facebook. I never told her I was on the run, etc. Spent 5 1/2 years of my life w/ her (1.5 thru prison) & she had no idea. Granted, I would never give anyone that power to hold over my head/turn me in. I had to be calculated every time I drove, or done anything. I couldn't make any mistakes. I knew that, so it wasn't hard. I didn't move/act/live suspiciously, so even when I would be around the police in stores/apartment complexes/getting pulled, and being a passenger. The hit my moms, step-dads, and all my known friends back home. The US Marshal that picked me up from the jail told me "I was a hard man to find" - lol. I had a flat tire, literally 1000 yards from my house. The cop got behind me & circled around. He'd seen me driving already, so I was fucked. The girl I was with, her face went from brown(black girl), to as white as me when the cop said "sir, you've had an active governors warrant out of the state of NC for the last 4 years" - LOL.

The reason they did that was because they can hold you with out bond with certain crimes where the bond was low. it’s either they hold u til trial or release u for free. This way the judge makes the decision instead of it being like okay everyone who does a certain crime bonds out for this much the judge says ur free or no you staying. THIS LAW WAS PASSED and is effective in Chicago

The law called the Safe T ACT will not only probably pass unless the Illinois State Supreme Court which is liberal leaning stops it, bail reform laws are already in NY and New Jersey. And there is only one where crime did go up but not as much as the other at all. New Jersey's crime and even the bail reform law is not like New York especially being that New Jersey judges have the power to hold defendants if they are dangerous.
