6 жыл бұрынGerard O´Connell from Northern Ireland, drives a particularly monstruous version of the Escort Mk2, powered by a Smith & Jones tunes 600Hp Cosworth YB Turbo unit.
Formerly powered by a Millington NA engine unit, it is now fighting for Top Honours in the Irish Hillclimb Championships with this fantastically finished and properly developed machine. Using a state-of-the-art Paddle Shift Transmission and weighing surely less than a 1000Kg this is surely one of the fastest Mk2 Hilllcimb cars in the World.

@@chrisbarton6760 haha so did i, bout 20 years ago. It was a 1980 1.3 gl with a 1.6 out of a ghia with a 4.4 diff. Was good of the line but crap at top end. Managed to get it up to 190kph (or there abouts) at bout 7500rpm till it disintegrated a spark plug

Insane power, it's wheel spinning like crazy going uphill! You can feel the g- force just watching the video. Looks a bit of a handful to keep in a straight line on hard acceleration, looks like a lot of fun round the bendy bits though!

Still got my 1980 mk2 panel van. Daily drive. Stock. Not much power but loves to use what there is, on an occasion. Keep em on the road. You actually meet loads of people who come over and say hey and want to talk about them. Me too!

Lovely sorted chassis so can put the power down. Would be interesting to see this race a stock 6R4. A tricked up 700bhp 6R4 is even faster than this which is frankly hard to imagine..
