For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is a 1976 Chevrolet Malibu Classic. This ’76 is a great shade of light blue with white racing stripes down the center. The Malibu Classic package replaced the Laguna package as the top of the line trim in 1976. The 1976 Malibu Classic can be identified by its unique arrangement of four square headlights surrounding the grille.
This two-owner classic is powered by a rebuilt 350cu in engine mated to a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission. The owner was very attentive to this car’s stance making sure it sits just right, installing all of the appropriate suspension components. To ensure the Malibu drove well, the owner installed a new exhaust, a new aluminum radiator, and a new rear sway bar.
Finding these Malibus is becoming more and more difficult. Especially finding one that runs and drives this well. If you’re looking for a classic Chevy that is an excellent driver, you’ve found it!

This color blue water in the 70s was in new York City. The favorite colors of everybody.

I had 2 of these.. I was the light blue metallic 350, swivel buckets 2 door.... I lived it so much I bought a 1977...with the exception of EXTREMLY small changes in grill and tail lamps, my 1977 was bright red metallic, with a white Landau roof with white pinstriping. They both had the rally rims and raised white letter tires. The biggest engine available in 1977 was the 305 with a 4 barrel car. Not a problem because both cars could hold their own. I wish I still had at least one of them. They were wonderful cars.... Heavy fast and smooth.

My parents bought the light blue one in April of 1976. I remember. I was in 3rd grade and my mom made my dad trade in his VW bug for this Malibu Classic and in 1986, it was still in excellent shape and it became my first car.

My parents bought a '76 off my mother's father in '80. It had the 305 V8, probably a 2-barrel. It was tan with a cream color non-vinyl roof. I freaking LOVED the look of and riding in that car. Neighbors had a black '77. It had the slight change to the grill. I loved that one too. Man, awesome. I really want one restored in my garage

:17, a hood ornament! I remember! 2:13, a window crank that has stood the test of time and the yellow bottom not fallen off yet. My first car was a 1977 Malibu. A very rusty silver, but GM did a horrible job with metallic paints in the 1970’s and they turned to sandpaper after 3-4 years. I got it in 1984 from my uncle. 350 2 barrel engine.

This was when only the top model would return to quad headlights, whereas the lower model only had singles.

Overall the car design is nice EXCEPT that hideous front clip with the double headlights stacked on top of each other😷. If it had 1 round headlight on each side it would look great but his is hard to watch.

The plain Malibu had one headlight on each side, whereas the Malibu Classic, as shown, came with the quads and the chain link grille.
