I came back to this video, because I have been made aware by watching another channel of the many ways that YT is making things harder for you guys to get compensated for your work, while at the same time Amazon is slashing it's commissions for affiliate links. So when this first downloaded my opinion of your working with Temu was not high, for a few good reasons which I still feel are valid. That said, do what you need to do to keep 60CH going and keep yourselves out of the breadlines. Lol You are always open and honest on this channel and so if you get paid by them and acknowledge it, what else can we hope for? Keep up the great work and we will keep supporting and watching. PS; I bought a T-shirt even though I'm not naked. (much)

Ok ex prisoner in california here, got out in 2020 i did 20 years went in at 19. California has laws where they cannot sell prison made goods but we are an exception to other states. We still make goods its called PIA prison industry authority. The goods are for prisoners and other state ran facilities. (Like license plates, matressee, clothes) we do NOT all get paid majority of jobs are non paying and if you're lucky youll yet 10 cents or 13 cents a hour. I know the kind of people Steve is talking about. College buddies who I lived with for four years and who came to my wedding, then moved across the country and I haven't seen in nearly 20 years. It's sad, but definitely understand that it happens. Also, I'm not sure the argument that "you already own things made by slaves so it's okay that Temu doesn't try to vet its sellers for slavery practices" is a good argument.

I dig listening to the podcast at work. Its one of the few that i don't need to see the video. This may not be a popular comment, but at the end of the day, we hate all over the big brands, but when looking at these boutique guitars, we say they suck because they aren't the big name. At the end of the day, we're all just haters at heart. So if someone like this is selling a guitar, and someone loves it, and the seller/builder is willing to stand behind playability claims, do it! That being said, if it is truly mdf, RUNNNNN!!!!!! Ive dissected the cheapest of the cheap, and sent out a product that is as good or better than the brands we love to hate. And never ever ever ever come across an mdf guitar. Seriously, I know they have disproved the whole "tone-wood in electrics" thing, but mdf is actually designed to be the opposite of resonant. And yes mdf guitars would have to weigh 15ish pounds with no relief.

Quick note Re: Temu vs. Ali. All ethics questions aside, Ali has gone very bad very fast... I had ordered from them for years... then trouble. Whole orders, partial orders, never come, incorrect. I ordered the Movall pedal you just did from Temu because your Amazon link was out of stock... I thought since they both sponsored you, I felt ok. Pedal came fast, cheaper than Amazon, good up to date communication. Not saying I am going back to either, but for me, no more Ali... and I might try Temu again. Great discussion.

Carvin also made some great amps back in the 1980's. Frank Zappa and Steve Vai used them back then. Steve Vai's Flex-Able album was recorded with one, so was Dweezil's first album. I'd love to get a hold of one of their old Solid State amps (the SX-100). Carvin guitars were very good quality for the money, until Keisel bought them and doubled/tripled the prices for similar guitars.

If you do decide to do another TEMU video maybe do review of guitar accessories and things like repair kits , luthier kits , and things like wireless guitar transmitters . The kinds of things people would maybe like to see if they'd like to expand their guitar experience. Thing I like about the cheap options is if you want to try something new then the cheap option is usually a safe bet to see if it's something someone wants to experiment with . For example a cheap luthier kit and a yard sale junk guitar is a great way to see if someone really wants to do that kind of work themselves and learn or just take the experience to understand what a luthier is really being paid for . P.S that song has a Blink 182 feel to it . Almost feels like it was influenced by Adam's Song , maybe ? Wasn't a bad song 😎

The supreme court has thrown out and heard cases about the use of slave labor and child labor. They have basically said that there is no culpability on the side of the large companies to keep track of their entire supply chain. Some companies pretend to care, but when any scrutiny is applied, you find out that big companies all have forced labor somewhere in the supply chain.

I have purchased 2 guitar related products from TEMU. The first was a distortion pedal which did one sound fine, but there was no variability. It was worth the $1 I spent, but it sucks. The second was a notched straight edge and fret rocker for $13. I’m sure the tolerances are not to Stew Mac, but they work really well for a non-professional. It is made of thick metal and I would highly recommend.

You should take the Monday cause at least it’s going back into the American economy. It’s impossible to boycott anyone on moral or ethical grounds now. Everything and everybody, even the companies we trust, takes some component or product from a country that uses an exploited workforce. Even the wages most of us are paid have in some form been generated off the back of an exploited country somewhere else.

The devices being made in China issue is intellectually dishonest and often used to deflect criticism. I try not to support authoritarian governments. I worked at a company that made a product that was hugely successful in China and the amount of crap I learned and the moral questions I asked myself daily were huge. That said we largely extracted money from the Chinese economy. Specifically to the point of not buying Chinese… guitar equipment is a luxury item. There’s tons of alternatives to almost anything guitar related that AREN’T Chinese or at least don’t send the majority of the profit to China. You have the option to make better choices and when you can you should. This goes for all products. I try to buy local wherever possible too. That said if you want to take Temu money have at it. People who are gonna buy cheap crap are gonna buy cheap crap. No one who is taking the Temu stance, including myself, was gonna buy anything in Temu anyway.

Temu is full of garbage but thats the fun in it for me. I order safety razors to use on my channel because im a curious person. Obviously if i spend 100+$ on a razor the odds are its gonna be quality and provide a quality shave but when i see a razor for .67cents i get curious, how bad can it be? lol. I do have a friend who buys clothing from temu and as far as i know she has had good luck with quality and getting what she orders. Maybe a lot of it depends on the kinds of items someone is looking for? I also think these days people cant be picky and are just strugging to get by. Some people dont have the convenience of choice. If someone can afford some basic needs from temu because they are cheaper than anywhere else and the products are good enough and it helps them survive these days, i wont judge. Do what yuh gotta do! I'm happy with the pedal but found nothing else I was interested in. The ethics on the current world supply chain is so murky. Xingjiang forced labour is confirmed by the United Nations’ report. As someone from Hong Kong, another region in China heavily oppressed by the Chinese government, it hurts to hear how you are essentially saying “the other countries are also bad so let’s not take too much issue in China being even worse”. A lot of people from Hong Kong try hard to minimise support for Chinese businesses. Good on you for China not directly affecting your life. Might be funny to just say in the video not to use Temu. Unless that's against their contract. Or shake your head no the whole time you're doing the ad spot haha. Maybe a quick video that comes out right before it that isn't sponsored by them saying not to support them and that their site and products suck lol. Well, one additional issue with Temu that didn't get brought up, is their massive contribution to global warming. From shipping, manufacturing and then the short lifespan of their products (good luck repairing something you get from them) - it's not a good brand to align your image with. As far as the terrible argument of "Well, your phone/tablet/computer was made in China too!" - tell me what electronic device isn't, and I'll get two. The difference with the devices that I buy, and Temu (and Apple products), is that I don't know if my purchases fund the Uyhgur genocide, and benefit from slavery, but Temu and Apple purchases do. I know you need to pay your bills, but let that weigh on you when you cash the check.

There's a video tour of the Orange amps factory in China that looks like a nice place to work. Of course you're only seeing what they show (I've worked at a factory while it's being toured lol), but it did seem like a decent place. It didn't look like the kind of place they had to put suicide nets up outside the windows.

Honestly like, China’s working conditions are in a lot of cases superior to the west. Let’s not pretend that folks in the US aren’t also working in what amounts to sweatshops for pennies without even half the benefits the rest of the world enjoys, including China. Prison labor is a huge part of production here too. China is a huge country and their logistics are highly efficient, their wages have continued to rise for decades, and they embrace automation to make life better for all. When they have a robot that can do something, no one loses their job, everyone’s job just gets easier for the same pay. What a concept! I don’t think it’s a paradise by any means but watching videos of people who actually live and work in China, it doesn’t really seem that bad. I don’t find anything wrong with TEMU outside of it’s terrible environmental impact.

The fact that people can't navigate modern life without buying Chinese goods isn't evidence that it's not a problem. There it is again. You simply taking any criticism and justifying it away. The fact is taking money supports the company EVEN IF YOU ARE TRASHING THEIR PRODUCTS. YOU - are an endorser. Plain and simple - that helps them out. Even if one child is used for slave labor - do you feel good about the money? STOP - don't bring other companies into it. Yes, they might. Or maybe not. But when you have Governments making specific warnings about the child labor and its a known problem in China, why contribute? Because other companies also are using that labor? Well you can do your part and stop advertising for Temu. Why, because I bought an Iphone? At least the scrutiny that Apple is under and the regulations that they 'try' to follow (and yes maybe not well) is different from Temu who just don't give a flying f. You are right, its a significant world problem. But you - YOU have a clear opportunity to walk away and demonstrate ethical and moral boundaries to your large audience. THAT does a lot. I get it, you want the money, you need the money. But if the cost isn't to you directly, I guess it doesn't matter. @@60CycleHumcast

Also the 'I couldn't find the confirmation on the malware!" sounds exactly like "I did my own research on vaccines!" C'mon, dude. Integrity. That any of this is even a discussion for you? Unsubscribe. Which sucks because I really liked your content. But, since ~I~ have integrity that's the choice I'm making and hopefully you'll begin to understand what you're doing and what you're teaching your friends, colleagues and family. It just isn't worth it. And for crying out loud if you don't know how to pronounce the words on a world-wide news story of slavery...."yeah you guys looked real hard on this".
