My problem with giving every student money is that they give money regardless of how well someone does in school. The student who skips classes, fails many subjects, and doesn't make an effort to do well in school gets the same money as that student who makes an effort to do well in school. Giving money to every student equally is unfair for those who do good. I'm all for scholarships when they give them to those who do well in school, but the government shouldn't waste tax money giving scholarships to mediocre or bad students. What's the motivation for students to do well in school if they are gonna give the same money anyways to every student regardless of their school performance? And with the elderly pensions, my questions are, why didn't they plan their retirement if they had all their life to plan it? Or why don't their own families support them economically to not spend too much tax money on pensions?
