60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.
The program still averages more than 10 million viewers, more than double the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor. The average audience for a 60 Minutes broadcast is 150% higher than those of the network morning news programs; the audience dwarfs the number of viewers drawn by the most popular cable news programs.
About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. The broadcast’s segments can be watched at 60Minutes.com and on the CBS All Access app. Its webcast, 60MinutesOvertime.com, offers content originally produced for the web, including behind-the-scenes video about the production of 60 Minutes stories and timely archival segments.
60 Minutes has won every major broadcast award. Its 25 Peabody and 150 Emmy awards are the most won by any single news program. It has also won 20 duPont-Columbia University journalism awards. Other distinguished journalism honors won multiple times include the George Polk, RTDNA Edward R. Murrow, Investigative Reporters and Editors, RFK Journalism, Sigma Delta Chi and Gerald Loeb awards.
60 Minutes premiered on CBS September 24, 1968. Bill Owens is the program’s executive producer. The correspondents and contributors of 60 Minutes are Sharyn Alfonsi, Anderson Cooper, John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and L. Jon Wertheim.

Sorry but this only goes to show that people don't understand how genius Mozart's music is. Using an alberti bass together with a melody doesn't make you Mozart.. The proportions, the imaginative orchestration, variational technique, perfect balance, etc. is what makes Mozart Mozart. Not to mention that he was the FIRST to do it, making it innovative.

I have watched a number of videos of young musical prodigies over the years. Inevitably in the comments, you will find people who raise concern for whether these children are being used by their parents and whether they are allowed to have any kind of a normal childhood. The first thing that struck me about this amazing young lady was how in charge she was. She is obviously quite comfortable explaining her vision, and instructing adult musicians how to help her achieve it. She is also so joyful about her music that it is quite a joy to watch her.

This is proof that many parts of the brain stay dormant for most, but are born awake for few. She is beyond a prodigy...she is Beauty personified in the form of the Universe condensed into a nature of human. She'll never have to get back to the garden... as she is "the garden." Marvin Hamlisch had a similar gift. At a very young age he would play all the music his sister learned during her piano lesson, note for note... and play it in every key. He knew nothing about the piano. If there is ever a current sign of hope for the redemption of the human spe- cies (who's been molesting "Mother Earth" to the point of mutation)... "ALMA" is it. She is pure stardust. She need not have her brain tested, pictured or analyzed. She only needs to do what makes her happy- release and share her music. Perhaps the world will learn a lesson about the true sense of harmony.

Now I can understand that the music came to his conscious mind and he "just" had to write it down. Alma is a genius too. I hope the adults in her life take note of what she said regarding all the composers in her head. Keep a close eye on her, watch for things becoming too much for her, and pull her back out of the limelight to rest and recharge. Teach her how to quiet her mind so that she doesn’t become overwhelmed, but not so hard as to squash her creativity. Such talented minds can be very fragile. Shine Alma, shine brightly ! ❤️

08:54 ✨ Robert Gjerdingen is professor of music at Northwestern in Chicago. He has been a consultant to Alma’s education. 09:02 🎶 I sent her some assignments when she was six.. seven, where I expected her to crash and burn, because they were very difficult. It came back. It was like listening to a mid eighteenth century composer! 09:19 🎶 She was a native speaker!! ✨ A native speaker? 09:22 🎶 It’s her first language. She speaks the Mozart style. She speaks the style of Mendelsohn . 09:28 ✨ And the names you just mentioned are the ones that lived for centuries. 09:34 🎶 Yes. She’s batting in the big leagues, and if you win the pennant, there’s immortality! 12:03 ✨ I usually don’t ask people your age this question, but what have you learned about life? 12:12 🤍 Well, I know that life is not always beautiful, that there’s also ugliness in the world. That’s why I’ve learned that I want to write beautiful music, because I want to make the world a better place. 🤍 12:25 ✨ We cannot know how Alma Deutscher channels her music like a portal in time. But in a world too often ugly, and too often overburdened with explanation, it is nice to take a moment and wonder. Alma Deutscher is a gift of pure joy to this world! Thank you for this wonderful interview of our beloved young joyous composer, and Alma thank you for sharing just being you! 🤍✨🎶✨🤍

You mean: Robert Gjerdingen He has written a textbook on compositional methods used in 18th century, which she also uses the same techniques, and that is the secret to her composing, however at 12:25 the low-intellectual-capacity 60 Minutes interviewing journalist can't comprehend "how she does what she does" because he is not even smart enough to know what questions to ask a smart person.

@@louisegogel7973 Gjerdingen teaches Partimento technique and the exercises he sent her must have been Counterpoint exercises with some famous (i.e. well known, ancient) cantus firmus in the bass. Probably his comment "thought she would crash and burn" is extreme hyperbole, because if she studied that material previously, then she would be able to get the right answers to his homework assignments without difficulty. What most music students consider "extremely difficult" are actually just straightforward problems no more difficult than a differential equation problem in math, which other types of students (like STEM majors) do 100's and 100's of problems of in their normal course of study during a single semester of school. But again the dork journalist was not smart enough to ask that question and the video editor probably edited-out the real information so the news segment would be 'more dramatic' about her level of skills.

@@superblondeDotOrg Lol, you assume that all people are good at math! I did best in Calculus, but my eyes glazed over when you mentioned Differential Equations. Then I looked up what they were, all sorts of variables to find solutions ... and those are not easy or straight forward to many people, and it takes me time to think them through... math was my lowest point of understanding, so Alma being able to do those exercises and people easily doing differential equations are both equally impressive to me! lolol

@@louisegogel7973 Do a web search for this. "The Myth of the Composer-Genius: Part I 3/4/2019". The resolution is always Practice, practice, practice, on the correct material, with the correct teaching methodology and Gjerdingen's materials seem to be an excellent example of how to learn to compose like Deutscher. Yes, she seems very smart, but a normal person can ALSO achieve some level of her of composition skills, with Practice, practice, practice and focus. (Just like anyone can achieve some level of math differential equation skills with practice, practice, practice and focus.) This is AWESOME. Some of us heard those notes early in our heads and then put them into dance also. Life in it's greatest form and kudos to people who are gifted with great imagination and can express themselves well beyond on their years. Simply stated been there, done that and want to share it. YES YES YES!!!! Great job Alma. Keep doing what you are doing!!!!! We like to hear it.

She's absolutely a beautiful young girl, who is "enjoying" music watch her when she is playing some intricate phrases. In her 4 note composing video i sensed a very matured musicians mind, mozart's name did pop up, i swear, it's not something that is made up after watching this video. Alma is here to accomplish some unfinished business. Its said in the past in Indian mystic life that reincarnation is a process of the soul, we keep coming back to complete the purpose of our life. I guess that's what Alma is about on... Would love to meet Mozart / Alma. God works in mysterious ways and this should be one of his/her most beautiful, close to heart project.

This child is, for sure, a gift from God for our times. What I hope is that this child, much more advanced than any adult in many ways, will eternally keep the soul of a child...

"will eternally keep the soul of a child..." She will - have no worries on that score ! The more spiritually _mature_ the Soul, the more _youthful_ it becomes: Alma, I think, is a perfect example of that 'paradox'. God bless her..........................

Child prodigies are famously interesting. Steven Alexander is another, his specialty is jazz. The one question I would have asked is, “What aren’t you good at? What vexes you?” How can anyone NOT be dumb struck by what the human brain can do? Not to mention how does her brain differ from the rest of us? Stunning!
