61st pier fishing : Galveston, Texas

5 жыл бұрынmade it to Galveston are 6:45, and had a good hour of fishing. Smacks and sheepshead didn't disappoint. Caught them on an Outcast cork, 4-5' fluorocarbon leader, size 10 treble hook, and some live shrimp. All the people at the pier were super friendly, and the staff, Gilbert, was cool peeps too. I'll definitely will be going back very soon.

HouArtFishing I’m assuming a Smac is a Spanish Mackeral ? They are oily but fun to catch! Fast, hard fighting fish !

TooManyChoices1 you can bleed them right after catch them. Then place them on water with ice to kinda give them a second chance to bleed the meat more. Honestly, I don’t eat fish much so I wouldn’t know.

Damn i was just there yesterday got skunked but my buddy hooked up to a nice sized jack. We didnt have dead shrimp and thats what everyone said they were hittin

Man ive been at it for 2 weeks every night and day i can between work to get my first big drum. Is it me that thinks these fish are extremely picky or am i doing somthing terribly wrong here. Lol. Everyone has those days where fishing is fishing and not catching so i guess its my time lol.
