As someone how has spent several thousand dollars on cheap-fi, and mid-fi only to wind up buying expensive TOTL headphones and IEMs to satisfy my audio tastes I wish I would have seen your video earlier. There is nothing wrong with spending $2K on something that you are going to enjoy daily, and you might as well start with the best and save money in the long run. People balk at $2K for a headphone but then turn around and buy expensive TVs, stereo systems, or $60K+ cars. Funny how that works.

One of the most rational, intelligent and well-rounded vids on the subject. Congrats on the vid, and your purchase. Regardless of the $, you made a wise purchase. If I could, I would do exactly the same. In my view, 65Audio are the best. In the meantime, I make do with another brand, much, much less cost with a promise to myself to one day correct that error.

Thanks for the vid and enjoy those U12t's! I almost used my stimulus check to buy the Trio, but backed out. I needed to buy more essential things instead. Someday though...

IEMs are not just about the physical construction, so I understand why people would think they are not worth several thousand dollars. But if having a high end pair enables you to hear more instruments in a song and do so enjoyably, then I say it’s worth it. I’ve had a pair of Fourte Noir from 64 since last August. Definitely the best-sounding one I have owned.

I've learned the hard way that when you find something you really, really want, a thing you keep thinking about then you should buy it without delay. If you don't you may start buying lesser things to try and scratch that itch. Eventually you will buy that thing you wanted but you wasted mire money in the interim on stuff you're not that into.

I think people who aren’t enthusiasts may bat an eye at spending that much, but as an obsessed knife collector, I absolutely understand.

I am making comparison to food, when explaining to people, why i spend so much money on audio too. A good music seassion brings me as much pleaure as a good lunch. And it has an extra perk of not maiking me fat if i over do it.

Your pick UM Mest II / JH Audio Aion Roxanne and 64Audio U12t???

For me things like headphones, mobiles, work gear (in my case computers), cars, bikes, things you use day in and day out, are absolutely worth shelling the cash. Saving on those things is irrational and counter productive. I listen to headphones when I work to focus better and make my work more enjoyable and also when I chill in the morning or after work. I can’t put into words how much more enjoyable my life is since I got into TOTL audio gear. I would sell my car if I had to before selling my headphones, as I use them far more than I do the car. Obv if you can’t afford it it’s another story, but if you can and you listen to music a lot, you waste your precious time listening on mediocre equipment (this goes for any hobby etc.).

You don't need to justify your purchase. If being an audiophile is your thing, then cool. You do you.

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo ----- Encore Encore Encore --- With that argument I am definitely headed on my way to purchase a 2020 Aston Martin DBS sports car. ---- Its's a done deal (LOL) In reality though I went right away after watching this great video and purchased a pair of 64audio Nio for a whopping $1700.00 (no buyers remorse)

I'm curious. Why did you go for the universal version over the customs?
@Precogvision2 жыл бұрын
customs don't hold their value and there's a potential the sound signature will be different from the universal model

You should try Sony Just Ear(nzk limited edition), NG Eurus, Spiral Ear SE6, Dita XLS, Final A8000, Dunu Luna, Softear Turii
@Precogvision4 жыл бұрын
Should have Dunu Luna in sometime soon! :)
@pietersoetaert66253 жыл бұрын
Precogvision I like the Luna for the comfort. I’m wondering if I could actually fit the U12T. Currently I use the Luna as most of the big iems like Sony IER-Z1R and Solaris 2020 are too big for my outer ear. Andromeda are my limit and the sharp edges do hurt my outer ear after half an hour. These look slightly bigger so not sure if these would fit. I may try to find a place to demo these some day :)
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
Pieter Soetaert U12T is the perfect fit for me, but fit is 100% subjective so DO NOT take that as gospel. Ironically enough, Luna gets uncomfortable for me after just a brief listening session haha

I'd never spend it and not because I don't see the value. It's just that I don't use my iem's for anything other than audiobooks and podcasts at work. Plus I don't want to deal with trying to find the audio source to make it actually worth the investment or lugging around the player, dac and amp. I have a very expensive fully mechanical chronograph watch so I get the appeal of buying one high quality life long item that you use every day. People ask all the time why have such an expensive time piece and have a clock on your cell phone. No matter what direction I take explaining it they never get it.
@Vegas3RSPilot3 жыл бұрын
The U12t nozzle is far too long and tips slide down making getting a good deal difficult which is why the right IEM to buy is the A12t. It sounds much better than the U12t even when it has a good deal.
@timothybracken17283 жыл бұрын

Haha, it wasn’t supposed to be a rationalization, but more exploring the idea of buy once, cry once and cutting the pretense. But that’s fair too. And yeah, they are fantastic!
