Great to hear the old Galaxie come to life. With little fuss or coaxing. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

I believe Gilbert is a certified Ford technician now.

I had a '66 Ford. What a beast it was. When you find later your valves are out of time, look at the timing chain. The gear for the camshaft is not made of metal. Not on a '66 for sure. You have to change it to fix what the factory did to them

I'm more of a GM guy (Oldsmobiles mainly) but I like the Galaxy. It definitely needs some love. It's in the right place, I think. Good luck with the old girl. All the best to you.

Yep, that'll work! That 289 will need a overhaul, for sure. I'm curious how good that C-4 is.

Two videos for the price of one: the TA runs like a champ, but the Galaxie does not. Well since you're diving back into Blue Oval cars, I'll wish you luck 😁

I’m sure that engine was a 289. They were bulletproof like the Chevy 283. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍

You just might want to do a will it move "Morgan" thing...thang phooey. Hadn't felt well now for a while but somehow, someway... the big guy in the sky doesn't want me yet. Heart attack equalled two stints in the tick box. Moving slow like that 289 smoker you just played with. I have little faith in that engine as its showing its had a mile or three put on it.... at the minimum as a old taxi cab rig, probably has a ton of idle hours on it. For some reason they just don't know when to quit unless you trust it to go fishing about ten miles from the house and no cell phone reception. Take care folks, I am still robbing air from the young

Is that a 289? A little early for a 302.
@Kickinpony6623 күн бұрын
It is a 289. The 302 didn't come in a production Ford until 1968.

@@rubinbrown8142 The only Ford trans that I ever had fail was a C-3. And even then, without doing a full autopsy, we figured it was a shift modulator issue. I had a few C-4's, a C-6, and an FMX. Bulletproof. I guess your mileage may vary.
