I just can't stop thinking about one thing: in the last shot, we saw Dani's hand on Jamie's shoulder. It meant that she had been with her lover all this time but she never let herself be seen by Jamie because she knew what it could do to her after what happened with her ex. She loved her so much that she always stayed with her but she never showed herself because that's how true love is isn't it? I never knew I'll love their story this much. P.s I'm in love with Dani's hair 😅

She never showed herself to Jamie because if Jamie saw her, she could say "it's you, it's me, it's us" and Jamie would be trapped with Dani instead and neither would ever move on. Love isn't possession after all.

"56) Dani understood what being a burden meant and didn't want that for Jamie" I'll have to politely disagree, if anything this show teaches us to never think like that. When Violet was starting to slip into Dani's reality, the first thing Dani did was to ask Jamie to marry her. I think this was Dani finding answers to Jamie's question all those years ago, was the moonflower worth all the efforts? The answer is yes. This is actually a really painful decision to make and a powerful message. I think Dani's ending in a way represents those with a mental challenge or chronic disease, it's easy to give up in relationships because of the seemingly inevitable heartbreaks. Never give up thinking that you're a burden. Dani didn't give up, she only let go to protect Jamie from physical hurt. Like Owen said, "To truly love someone is to accept the work of loving them is worth the pain of losing them." It's true that Owen lost his mother long before she was gone, but even then she was never really gone as Flora said, death doesn't mean gone. Every love story is a ghost story because of its power to transcend time and "haunts" the living. I realized I've been quoting a lot but I couldn't have said it better myself so here's the last one from Nell, "I loved you completely and you loved me the same, that's all. The rest is just confetti." When the Hill House family were apologizing to Nell for how their final moments went, Nell simply replied they weren't their final. Like how Hannah kept going back to her favorite memory with Owen after she died, it's what truly counts in the end.

Dani and Jamie were one of the healthiest wlw couples on television. I wish they had gotten a happy ending. They were so in love with each other. In the final episode of season 1, when Damie proposed to Jamie, and she said "And I know we can't technically get married" I just burst into tears because the show was set in the 1980's and gay marriage wasn't legal yet :( These two forever own my heart. When Jamie was screaming "You, Me, Us" to Dani when she was drowning at the bottom of the lake, that had me sobbing. When it showed Dani's hand with the ring resting on Jamie's shoulder in the last scene of the last episode, I just started crying all over again. Jamie and Dani deserved so much better.

I have to say, this relationship always really makes me weepy, it's just so unique and so beautiful that even with all of the pain Dani went through, (and the pain Jamie felt for her) their love was always worth it. It makes me really believe that there is hope even under all the struggles and pains of life; thank you for this incredible edit.

Realizing the reason 8: "she makes her laugh" takes up pretty much every scene in the movie and thats why i think this works, because they are both broken, both of them need to be reminded that there's still good things worth caring for in their own way. Jamie takes Dani out of the shadows and Dani proves her that she can actually work hard for something and be rewarded. Imma need a year or so to get over this😭🤗

I have chills all over my body watching this. I have never seen a love story like what they show us, that is how love is really supposed to be. It is so tragic that the jamie who once thought that there is no use to keep living if you are fading away everyday..that it does no good to anyone was ready to feel everything for her and dani if dani couldn't feel anything..and dani maybe already felt that she had unwillingly started trapping jamie in the way owen was in one way trapped by his mother..dani didn't want that..not even after her death..so she never showed herself..but the thing is..while everyone else maybe is afraid of being haunted by a ghost..or by a reflection(dani by Edmund or viola), jamie kept looking for her love in those places..she wanted to be haunted by her love..and dani would not have let that happen..
