Move the engine backwards, cut the fenders, 1" body lift, move steering box forward, then stretch the wheel base as must as you can, use Skyjacker or BDS 2" lift springs, adjust bump stops and install proper length shocks and modify mounts as needed. There is a really good chance you'll need a rear anti-rap bar to keep the u-joints and the leaf springs alive.
@66Duffman2 ай бұрын
Sounds fun maybe down the road…I don’t know how much I wanna spend on this thing 😂

@@66Duffman Moving the engine, cutting fenders and moving the wheel base is mostly elbow grease, and don't forget the Jeep acronym "Just Empty Ever Pocket"

SUGGESTION: your shackle angle is terrible almost 90 degrees and is the reason you have next to no flex.. get a shackle relocation kit or make one so the shackles are at a 45 degree or close to it and youll see a massive difference

Looks to me the engine was swapped out with a newer 6.4ltr instead of the original 6.0. The engines don't interchange and the motor mounts sit to far forward causing the fan to hit the radiator, they probably didn't change the bushing in the end of the crank either. 88 yj didn't come with fuel injection.
@66Duffman2 ай бұрын
Confused here…4.0 was swapped in and the 4clinder is EFI in 88
@hotshtsr202 ай бұрын
Curious how long those JK axles with 40s will last... I've contemplated similar for my XJ since bigger than 37s generally means moving the gas tank and other shit around.
@66Duffman2 ай бұрын
I’m curious too since most people avoid these axles so who knows it might work out 😂

I'm surprised the dana 30 didn't break the second the tires got the lugnuts put on lol 5.13 have like a half tooth of engagement...... I destroy axles on 35s taking it ez

@66Duffman2 ай бұрын
My mistake it’s a JK Dana 30 front axle
@vwclub32 ай бұрын
@66Duffman atleast you upgrade from junk 30 to better 30 .....if ya lock it your gonna need cromoly axles or rcv gusset the c and truss it and it will hold up to some abuse on 33s 35s are pushing it if your heavy on the skinny peddle ... can also use wj knuckles for bigger front brakes and a little more clearance on tie rod.... and wouldn't go any lower then 4.55s only have 1 tooth of engagement at 4.88s .... working with glass as a ring gear

@66Duffman I just left you that message on Instagram 😆 The Peugeot BA-5 & BA-10 are completely garbage, and I heard you say they welded the motor mounts? My friend did the 4 to 6 on a 97 TJ , shyt just bolted in, not sure about the first YJs , I had 1 but it was a 3 speed auto, it was my gardeners, he had it from new, she had 350,000 miles on the 4.2 , he dropped dead a few months after I bought it for $300 , it literally out lasted him , unfortunately, RIP 🙏 Steve the gardener

Be careful with that one. Flips easily. I still remember seeing a dead guy next to his wrangler. Seat belt upgrade mandatory!
