Mine was a dark aqua with white interior. 440 magnum, suregrip rear, and it was fast. Mine idled and sounded just like this. Exhaust had resonators only when I purchased it in 1969 and only 20k miles on it. Smoked a bunch of competitors on the street in those years.

Reminds me of the car that I bought from the original owner. He was a Dodge mechanic working for Earl Ike Dodge in Inglewood, California. Mine was a Dodge Cornet 500 with what I remember was a 426 Hemi with automatic transmission. It was one of I'm thinking 320 cars that were built. They had to manufacturer so many cars to qualifier as a factory how you would say stock car that anyone could buy off the showroom floor. With the original owner working for the dealer he was able to get hold of the car as he raced cars at the local dragstrip sponsored by the dealer. That meant he was able to work on the car and get parts for free part of the deal with the dealership for sponsorship. Believe me when I was able to buy the car man that carwas hell on wheels. Needless to say after just say a few tickets I had him swap out the hemi for a somewhat smaller engine. I was pulled over by the CHP for doing just say triple digit mph. When the officer came up to the car he asked what kind of engine was under the hood. Lucky I just had the smaller engine installed. It was a 300+++ two barrel carburetor. He just laughed and said if that has that engine with a two barrel I won't give you a ticket. I popped the hood and there was that two barrel and engine. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the chrome on the car still had the 426 hemi on the fenders. I was once flying down the freeway doing about 95 MPH when my buddy asked what would happen if I stepped on the gas. You are right I started burning rubber leaving all the cars behind me in a cloud of smoke. Dang now that was a car.I ended up giving the car away that was given to someone who gave it to someone. One day I received a call from one of the police departments that they had the car impound lot. If I wanted it back I needed to pay $180.00 storage fee. Stupid me just junk it. Dang was I stupid or what. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 🇺🇲☮️🕊️✌️ Peace and Love from A Proud Viet Nam Era Veteran 🇺🇲🪖 age 72 homeless and living on the streets of Sunny Southern California. Let us see if anyone can top that story. Well back to your video. Forgot to mention that it had a factory hoodscoop.

Aside from the added clutch fan... This 440 has the WRONG crank and water pump pulleys. What gives? And the P.S. pump should be the small diameter federal style pump with a wider belt groove. Don't believe that the Saginaw pumps were used this early on the big block engines. I think 69 was when they showed up... Hope this information will help you sort out this car better. Later Frank. The 440 was introduced as a large, smooth running luxury car engine in 1966, to compete with the big Cadillac and Lincoln engines. All 1966 and 1967 440's, including the high performance versions, were factory "dynamically balanced." This ended for the 1968 model year. The main difference I can see on 66 and 67 440's is, the crankshaft pulley has a heavy ring welded to it, with balance holes drilled in it. I believe this is part of the dynamic balancing. Even after removing the weighted pulley, they still run fairly well balanced. In 1967 only the 4-speed 440's and Street Hemi's got windage trays. All Street Hemi's got dual point distributors, but only 4-speed 440's got dual points. The Saginaw power steering pump tends to give better "feel" than the Federal style pump. A lot of people swap the older single field alternator for a newer two field alternator, by grounding one field lead to the case of the alternator. The air conditioning water pump pulley may be different, as is the air conditioning water pump impeller inside. I haven't kept up with all of the small parts, but I remember the crankshaft pulleys on the 66 and 67 440's having the heavy balance ring on them.
