We need to stop looking at youts creatively getting themselves off the streets and look at what caused them to make this music to begin with - i.e poverty, lack of social services, youth centres, education etc. Is it easier to just ""ban"" the music? Sure. Are you fixing anything? No.

Art reflects reality. Just like how Basquiat art always did. They tried to blame grime back in the day which basically led to the end of so solid crew but grime is too big a target now so they are are moving on to drill. What people don’t understand is that in areas where the drill music is from obviously it’s not increasing violence or influencing people because it already happens there. But I come from and area where there used to be almost 0 crime but I feel that the kids listening to this have genuinely been influenced as crime rates are increasing rapidly
