Both grime and drill have the aspect of people rapping as something in common, but sound wise grime is based on EDM style beats more specifically garage, and drill is based on the Chicago drill scene that originated in 2011/12 with Chief Keef, Lil Reese, Lil Durk and Fredo Santana. Drill beats are usually more simplistic and harder hitting, with heavy "bell" sounds often incorporated. They are also a lot darker sounding. Content wise drill mostly talks about violence and trapping (drug selling) whereas although grime also sometimes does the same, it's to a much lesser extent.
