I've made it my mission to not only find a 1968- 1972 Chevy Nova but also to restore it top to bottom. Can I find this car? I don't think I could ever had predicted the crazy journey this quest would take me on: abandoned car lots, cars left in the woods for half a century, the ups and down... the madness. Join us now on this crazy journey to see what happens!
Do you know where this car is? Go to our website and let us know.

Max I finally got time to check out the second episode. I'm going to try to keep this comment short this time. lol 1. I found the episode entertaining, the story line is just a good one so it's easy to stay tuned in. 2. Asking our suggestions on how we would go about it, what I would have done (depending on it the car was within a reasonable drive from me.) I would just gone to the property and talked to neighbors or anyone in the area to get answers on the land/owners of the land. If it was to far for me to want to drive i would have just done my investigating using the internet (as you did). As far as feeling like you've done something wrong, naaa thats all part of the hunt. You'll never know if somethings available if you don't ask. Only thing i would have done different is, I would keep the voicemail short and sweet with a call back number and I would also do the (note on a car and possibly a mailbox or doorstep). I find car deals work way better if you can speak to the individual in person first so they can look you in the eyes and see that you're seriously interested in the car. (not just someone looking to get it cheap to sell it and make a buck on it.) keep grinding the car will show and who knows maybe that one is the one, timing is just not right.

Good luck on your journey I've been on a similar Journey myself, I'm 52 years old, and when I was 21 I had a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass and I sold it when I was 26 and regretted it everyday so the past 10 years I've been on a journey looking for the old girl, and here in the states you can't get any information from the DMV/Tax assessor because after the automobile off for the registry for 20 plus years it impossible according to the DMV and Police.....

I can't even keep tracking of how many times I have heard that story, and it's always sad to hear. Letting go a car because of circumstance of life. Now I'm in Canada but it sounds like the legal side of things is the same bullshit. Great episode! It's turning out to be a bit like a P.I show, the hunt is on and it's only a matter of time. Real shame about that chevy in Gatineau, the weather sure beat the heck out of it, bet it was a beauty back in the day. The 'abandoned' lot mystery must have been gut wrenching hearing nothing back, however, I do think you went about it the right way that was true to yourself. You laid it all out and went for it, there's no shame in that. We miss 100% of the shots that we don't take, just sucks it didn't work out this time. Onwards we go! If matt got lucky, so can you. 👊👊

I am too old and crippled to drive anymore but sure would of enjoyed driving a new bronco. I am sure you would have enjoyed the Bronco too. I never thought I'd buy a new car in this day and age but the Bronco is great. I spent about 90% of my time driving on farm roads and never have tk worry about anything. It has great 4x4 and suspension and ground clearance. Not to mention its a 6 speed manual. Would have loved to drive it in Alaska one day that state is on my bucket list for sure. Thanks for dropping by I wish you good health. Hi, I live in Grand Falls New Brunswick. 4 Years ago I bought a 71 Nova Rally from a fellow that had 2 Novas!. I was at first interested in the white 72, cause I had been told that it had a dz 302 engine in it. It didn't. It took me 5 years to get the 71 Rally, all because at first the guy had offered it to me for $100.00. I turned him down cause at the time I really wanted the 72 cause of the motor that was supposed to be in it. Long story short, this guy probably still has the 72! From what I had seen of the 72, it was complete, the only thing wrong mostly was the flares over the back wheelwell. They were both standard with 350 engines. If you might be interested, I could get you the phone #, and his name. Just let me know and the car might be inside, so I could get some photos of it. Good luck, and oh yeah, I got mine for $1,000 finally, engine running and all plus I have been restoring it since then!
@SubdivisionAuto
@SubdivisionAuto Жыл бұрын
Wow for that price you can't go wrong. It all depends on the condition of the car and the story it has. If I was just looking for a car I'd jump on it but I have a couple more checkmark boxes than thr average person buying a car. Because I am doing this video series I am looking for a car that needs work because I plan to film it all. 2nd is the big one the story. A lot of the cars I'm actually looking at are either sitting for a long time, or abandoned or something happened etc. I do have a couple lined up to go see in the spring thus far. So I don't know the condition of your contacts car so it's hard to say. Another thing I didn't mention in the video but something I have been doing is avoiding cars with 350s in them. Reason being I'm going to do am LS swap and it would be a shame to ruin a matching numbers car. So the cars I am seeking either have no drive train or they're 6 cylinders. Not sure if that makes sense but you can see why it's taking me so long. Thanks for the message

Man those people seem highly incompetent. In the states, or in Texas at least, property ownership is public record. You can go online to your county’s website, type in an address and see who owns it. I wish I could help you. I have the PERFECT car for you. It’s a 70 and already stripped down, ready to be put back together, but it has its own sentimental value to me, and I don’t ever see myself selling it. These are are plentiful down here, so often cheaper than what you seem to be finding. Not sure on international shipping rates, but if you were to find one in the states, specifically in the south (less rust) you may still make out the same with shipping included
@SubdivisionAuto
@SubdivisionAuto Жыл бұрын
I am glad you are doing your own project and all I can say is (from talking to people who used to own these things) is don't sell it no matter how hard it gets to fix. People usually do so when they run out of time or money but down the the line it becomes their biggest regret. Now it sounds like a much better situation in texas and based on the groups I follow there seemed to be an endless amount in Texas, South Carolina, California etc. And those ares are much cheaper yet way more solid than anything in ontario. So yes it's worth the Hassel and fees to go states side. That said i am still trying something more local due to the fact I want to film as much as possible. Dealing with the government has made me avoid titlelesss cars altogether though. Such a pain in the ass here. Thanks for your insight

Thanks John I appreciate this. Believe it or not I have not completely exhausted my resources here yet but I am very close. The problem is most of the cars are just so rotted away you can literraly put your arm through the metal if you press hard enough the paint just makes it seem in fact. I cant imagine the cars being much better in Indiana as you guys get similar weather (unless someone took the car into a barn or something). I think unless it was a barn find (which is rare and I have not seen one yet) it would be difficult for me to come by (just due to the distance and with transport/boarder its a hassle). If i dont find one by the end of the year I will go down to the southern states because the cars there are just in such great shape.
