Can we just call out how easy it is to disassemble and repair a Roomba? No other robot from any other company that I have seen is this user friendly when it comes to repairs, let alone finding OEM parts. There may be better robots out there, but this alone will keep me using iRobot for quite a while.

I was initially interested in this battery, but there are plenty of reviews on Amazon that say it works good at first, then dies quickly. Moreover, there is only one purchase option, and the seller appears to be located in Morocco. In addition to the poor battery reviews, the seller has pretty horrible reviews with 100% negative reviews for the past 90 days and a 57% average negative lifetime reviews. He seems to have a pattern of taking people's money and not delivering any batteries. BUYER BEWARE!

Here we are months later. Have you noticed any battery performance degradation or that it can no longer clean the entire job on one charge?

I wonder if the extra weight of that bigger battery will effect the robot?

Are you still using this battery? When you switched batteries, did the Roomba lose its map? How long does it take to recharge compared to the original battery? When the robot pauses to recharge, it supposedly only charges enough to finish the job before resuming. Does that work with this larger battery?

Maybe its just me but hopefully another manufacturer comes out with one of these bigger batteries because I ordered this one using the link on this video from Amazon right after he posted I am now on my third one in 10 months it's only lasting barely 2 months before it keeps less than the charge than the OEM battery does. Yeah I am fast forward 10 months and the reviews on the Amazon listing all reflect the same thing they're barely lasting a month or two before they die.

Ok, folks. I wanted to let people know I tried out this battery replacement. I did notice longer usage from the battery. However, the battery failed after just a month of usage. Fortunately, it happened while in the return period. Had to pay for the return postage, but worth it. So, I don't personally recommend this upgrade.

Battery life wasn't too much of a big deal to me, because I only need a few areas vacuumed regularly. But still wish Irobot had included the beefier battery. Otherwise the Robot seems phenomenal.

Please test avoiding objects with socks, masks, toys, car keys, untied sneakers, pencil ..

LOL, reviews all over the map! Other than Adam, anyone finding this cheaper battery worth it? Hard to find honest review after 1 year of use versus one week. Adam, a review after two years would be awesome!

should take apart that battery pack to see what cell they have put into it. manufactures hide garbage batteries all the time, jack up the mAh and under preforms. Also order one from them and see if you get the same batteries inside the pack. So they aren't hand picking for reviews.

When you first said $850 thought you talking price of the battery 🤯, glad that wasn't it. Does the app recognize capacity of the battery and compensate for it. Kind of funny this vacumm is practically new and already third party battery replacement. Time will tell because these take few chargers to break in.

My two cents. The results you got was what I expected. More mah more time. But having several years experience with batteries in drones not all batteries are equal. Asian manufacturers are experts at making batteries look good but you get what you pay for. Typically when the capacity goes up a lot and the price very little what you get is a battery that works great at first but won’t recharge near as many times as the one the OEM supplied. That means the battery starts going bad sooner. So buyer beware . A good high capacity battery should cost a lot more than a standard one and if not well you take your chances. As always great video. Well I know what my i8+ is getting soon. I'd love to see a max single charge run time test. Start by having it clean all on double pass mode with edge clean enabled. If it can complete that all on one charge see if it'll run until it dies if the base is unplugged.

I have a really big house....3,500 sq ft. I have rejected Roomba because of battery, but maybe this will work. Also most of the floor are Mexican soltillo tile. They are hand made and very uneven. I am concerned that robots with very sensitive object avoidance will not work on these floors. They will think there are objects in the way.

I noticed roomba 980 battery will fit in the roomba i7 but different connector. I wonder why they did this 🤔

I wonder if using a third party battery like this voids the warranty for the robot. I would think it might but not sure. A lot of reviews on amazon talk about how it worked at first but then quit working. The real issue is that Irobot needs to include larger batteries with their bots. That's one reason, among others why I think Roborock is better than Roomba in a lot of ways, larger battery and much better navigation.

I did this upgrade before I saw this video (built my Own battery though)(just saw the reviews on yours.. Lots of complaints) . But the oem bms decided to die and I can't find any info on the bms or a pinout of the connector pin. Anyone know what the pins all connect to? I'm gonna likely replace the bms with a high Amp rated bms and reuse the pin connector... But need to know how it's supposed to connect... (i8+) One issue with a larger battery is the roomba i8 has a 240min max charge time... So it WON'T fully charge the battery as it takes over 4hrs to charge when dead. Unless you schedule a 25min "spot clean" between charging or pull it off the charge n put it back on manually.

That’s a joke that iRobot don’t supply a larger battery when there is space for it and when it’s such an expensive model. I bet they list one separately on their parts page as an upgrade so they can extract more money from customers.
