yea my dad had tried to seal the kick vent water leaks up with foam sealer probably in the early 90s, rust had been there a log time... Since the truck now has A/C and will stay in my family after I'm gone one day, I felt no harm in welding the vents up. If this was a repair for a resale or a customer job, I would definitely think about trying keep the vents if possible. Repop cowl sections are available, but expensive. And in the later video(s) where I finished this repair I seam sealed all the areas I could get to really well.
